How awesome it is to see believers give praise and glory to God publicly!



U.S. Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas: ‘I Give All The Glory to God’

Douglas won the gold medal in the all-around women’s gymnastics event at the Olympics on Thursday and in a post-win interview said that “all the glory” for her win goes “to God.” She also tweeted her thanks to God, stressing “may I never forget the good things he does for me.”

Gabby Douglas, 16, came in first for the gold medal on Thursday after superior performances on the uneven bars, the balance beam, and the floor exercise mat. This was her second gold medal at the games and she is the first African American woman in Olympics history to win the all-around gymnastics competition.

After her win, Gabby Douglas told NBC, “It is everything I thought it would be; being the Olympic champion, it definitely is an amazing feeling.”

“And I give all the glory to God,” she said. “It's kind of a win-win situation. The glory goes up to Him and the blessings fall down on me.”

On her Twitter account, Douglas has posted numerous Tweets thanking God for His help and expressing her devotion to God.

On Aug. 2, Douglas tweeted, “Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.”

On July 31, she tweeted, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

On July 30, she tweeted, “I believe in God. He is the secret of my success. He gives people talent.”

On July 28, Douglas tweeted, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged; for the Lord will be with you wherever you go!”

Back on July 2, she tweeted, “But at the end of the day the glory ALWAYS to God!”

On June 17, she tweeted, “Happy Father’s Day everyone! Enjoy this day and praise God for he has given us wonderful dads:-)”

On June 11, Gabby Douglas tweeted, “Always give God the #glory #ALWAYS!”

U.S. Olympian Ryan Hall has chosen to forgo traditional methods of training for the summer Olympics because he says “God is my coach”. Ryan Hall is a marathon runner competing in the London Olympics 2012. Hall calls this form of training faith based training.

“I call this kind of coaching faith based coaching as I apply what I learn in my faith to my running” Ryan Hall explained.
