I'm not going to have an argument about this matter and I'll concede the point that the trouble with the economy during Carter's reign was largely due to Paul Volker's management of the federal reserve. Unfortunately Like Bush in the current administration, Carter in his administration did not have the intelligence to grasp what was happening with the economy. People like to say he was very intelligent, perhaps so, like a savant, but no grasp of important issues of the day.

Agreed, but this is about more than the economy. The "war" situation. The rampant corruption in the Government. There's always been some form of corruption in Govt., but Bush seems proud of it. No matter the crap Wolfowitz, Gonzales, Rumsfeld, Libby, ect.,pull, Bush is right there talking about how they're good men and trusted, vital parts of his "team", and that those uncovering the truth about these rats are playing "partisan politics". Speaking of that, at a time when a President needs to pull the country together, he has done far more to divide it further.

Without exception, EVERY conflict America's ever been in was
based on lies and false-flag operations to manipulate public opinion to support wars that only profit bankers and oil and arms dealers.
Most Americans are nice but dim and think war is some righteous

ALL administrations here have been war criminals! The Bush administration differs only in it's inability to be subtle.

"Culmination - not an aberration" and the comment regarding public opinion and support, were closer to correct than the other postings I've seen here.

Servicemen are largely young and incompletely educated so its not realistic to point the finger at them. After all they have agreed to follow orders without question, except in cases where the law is broken by following the orders.

There have been issues that led to war however, German U-boats and Pearl Harbor for example. To say such issues were not manipulated might be jumping to conclusions, but to say there was no provocation for war would be disingenuous as well.

HOW DO YOU EQUATE THE PROBLEMS OF TODAY WITH ANY ONE PERSON.
WE ALL HAVE TO MAKE DECIONS IN OUR OWN LIFES AND SCREW THEM UP.
