Consequences for one's beliefs?

Government Takes Steps to Ban Christian Beliefs

As most folks have already heard, Dan Cathy, president of Chick-Fil-A restaurant, made statements that suggested they were supportive of Biblically defined marriage, and not supportive of same sex marriage. The result has been a firestorm of anti-Christian rhetoric. Chicago Mayor Rahm “never let a good crisis go to waste” Emanuel has suggested that he will block any attempts by Chick-Fil-A to open a new restaurant in Chicago. Emanuel said, “Chick-Fil-A’s values are not Chicago values...Read more...

Emanuel’s anti-Christian attack is supported by Chicago Alderman Proco Moreno said, “There are consequences for one’s actions, statements and beliefs. Because of this man’s ignorance, I will deny Chick-Fil-A a permit to open a restaurant in my ward.” (Source) (Excuse me? Consequences for one’s beliefs?)

AGAIN MARRIAGE IS A RELIGIOUS CONCEPT AND EVEN RELIGION HAS RIGHTS THAT GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO EVALUATE CAREFULLY! YOU DO NOT NEED A PIECE OF PAPER TO MAKE A FAMILY OR RELATIONSHIP BUT GAY PEOPLE WANTING TO HAVE GAY MARRIAGE ARE INFRINGING NO A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION'S RIGHTS AS WELL BY FORCING CHANGE UPON THEM THEY ARE NOT READY FOR!

THIS IS WHAT I CALL A "FIRE FOX" DIVERSION. You tie fire brands to the tails of foxes and let them run amok in the field setting them on fire to divert attention from the real problem or issue. With all the problems this nation is facing we are wasting FAR too much time arguing this. HOMOSEXUALS NEED TO BACK THE HELL UP AND GET OFF OF THEIR HIGH HORSES! The divorce rate is higher among homosexuals than heterosexuals anyways. They screamed oppression for so ling they are now becoming oppressive.

ONE MORE TIME, MARRIAGE IS A RELIGIOUS CONTRACT, NOT A CIVIL ONE! IF A CHURCH WANTS TO PRACTICER IT BUT THE STATE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE IT BECAUSE OF IT BEING A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION THEN GET OVER YOURSELF!

I am sick of Minority votes trying to force themselves upon us as if they are a majority!

So what about those non-religious straight people who get married? Should that not be allowed, since they're not religious?

America has been spoon fed Christian traditions for how long? Since the inception of this nation? I am just advocating equal rights for religion here as well as much as that bothers me to do so. There was a compromise offered to the gay community but they are not willing to compromise. this is one time I have to say SCREW THEM! We keep compromising but they don't have to? NOT! If you give a mouse a cookie it will want a glass of milk...

Indeed, and it is not a gay nation, an Islamic nation, nor a puppet of the UN. But again for equality to be equal all sides must be considered before compromise can be achieved and religion does have a right to exist even if we don't agree with it. Heck, Scientology, want to talk about stretching what is religion? but hey, if people want to wear tinfoil hats, poke berries up their noses and attempt to fart the Star Spangled Banner, well as long as they are not hurting anyone they can.

But with all the problems this nation is having gay marriage should be on the back burner and gays just need to get it in their heads that they are trying to force an issue society is not ready for in all reality. It is a stretch just getting people to leave them alone. In the Middle East homosexuality is not tolerated at all. If the gay community wants to talk about oppression here they should look at what goes on in our neighbor's house before complaining how bad we are here about "Their rights."

I'm with you andy!

Gays are whining about wanting something that they should not even want. What they want is just more government interference and control in their lives.

The government should get out of the marriage issue altogether. If two people want contracts they should make them with each other and keep the government, which is just the corporate machine, the hell out of it.

Personally I don't think religions should have anything to say about it either because they were created by the controllers in the first place and are nothing more than corporations themselves.

Both religions and the government are authorities who are constantly trying to dictate to people how they aught to live their lives. When are people going to stand on their own two feet and declare their right to govern themselves? When are people going to stop bowing to authority, the queen and some alien gods who demand worship?

If you want to be a slave or a servant at least don't walk around with the delusion that you are free.

To censor this company for its position introduces an ethical quandary that infringes upon the freedom of expression, despite what an individual's personal position is regarding this subject.

So then it's not about the religious aspect for you, it's solely about them being gay. Many, many straight people who are not religious get married. Had it been all about the religious part, you would have answered my question.

Both religions and the government are authorities who are constantly trying to dictate to people how they aught to live their lives.

Do you realize how chaotic the world would be without religious, civil, and moral standards? Not all these are these are transfered to people through tyrannical means.

When are people going to stand on their own two feet and declare their right to govern themselves?

When are people going to stop bowing to authority, the queen and some alien gods who demand worship?

Rebellion is one of the most dangerous
attitudes among the people of our nation today.

Politics is full of it, and homes are hurt by it,

while personal character is ruined by this
careless attitude to what is right.

Without rules
and laws anarchy will always result.

It begins
with the first "no" your kid utters, and prevails
in every age today.

If you want to be a slave or a servant at least don't walk around with the delusion that you are free.

If you want to be free, then be free.

If you don't want to be a slave or servant at least don't walk around with the delusion that...

...that your rebelliousness will not cause you to loose what freedoms you have.

Exercise your freedom to chooses rightly.
