I wasn't trying to be funny, just being me. Maybe I need a new personality. Also, Upton Sinclair comments after running for Gov of California is when these polls started. People favour Socialism, but are fearful of Communism.

TBH- we ate outside and I went in to use the commode and paid the bill, when I came out the original bill was there and I pretended that we were skipping out on it- you know just to see how she would react- but that was afterwards.

Politics is something I would never discuss on a first date, no matter how hard they pushed me for my stance. There wouldn't be a second date either. She seems over sensitive to me, I thought you were witty myself TBRich.

Having worked as a bartender/club manager I tend to know when somone is being a wiseazz (in person) and just play along. Believe me I have heard some off the wall stuff and never seen fit to smack anybody.

But I have to say I would not take anyone threatening or actually smacking me for something I said in jest or otherwise. That just crosses the line.

When someone lays hands on another it pretty much justifys getting yourself arrested female or not.

Your date always had the option to refuse to be in your company and if she did not like what you were saying she should have left.

I am surprised you did not just excuse yourself when she made such a juvenile suggestion, pay your bill Not the resturant's fault you picked a lemon), and leave her setting there waiting you to come back. Political tirades are another thing I would not listen too.

I don't see anything wrong, or smart *** about what you said. There will always be a difference of opinion on all topics, whether it is politics, religion, even as far as raising children. Should it then be that anyone with differences have a right to smack someone? Absolutely not! As I said previously, don't sweat it, and keep trying till you find the right one. Good luck to you.
