The Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia has stated that a local female resident named Amina Bint Saleem Bin Saleem Naseer has been beheaded after being found involved in committing sorcery that is strictly prohibited in conservative Gulf. She was executed in Northern state of Jawf.
The ministry did not provide any further information on the nature of the crime that resultantly sentenced her to death. According to Alhayyat, a London-based newspaper, a member of religious police that convicted Amina was almost 60 years old.
Saudi officials also said that she was involved in malpractice that included deceiving people and taking money from them by pledging that their illness would be removed. According to officials, she used to charge $800 per session.
According to Amnesty International, the number of executions involving decapitating has reached up to 73 in the Kingdom in the current year. A similar case previously happened in October last year when a woman was beheaded for murdering her own husband by setting his house on fire.
