What's the deal with this thread? "Hot" is subjective, anyway.

I think it is about how unattached but outwardly attractive people
may have a lot of issues and that is why they are single.

But that is absolutely not the case in general.
Very attractive people have a lot of time meeting
good people. They get hit on by a lot of losers
and narcissists and the good ones don't seem to
approach them.

I found out that if I approached them then they frequently
told me how glad they were to meet me and how hard it was
for them to find people to date.

It was universal.

So - go ahead and go for the hot chick or hot guy.
They may not be meeting the right people at all.

Just remember YMMV.

Possibly, but you won't know that until you get to know her and form your own opinions. Just because she is "hot" does not mean she comes with some sort of issues or baggage. Also, on the flip side, maybe she is tired of everyone else's $h!t being blamed on her?

This thread is weird...I mean, what if the tables were turned? Would that mean every "hot" guy would have baggage too? It's how you deal with your baggage and your approach to life that matters, at least imho.

So true, I've met some women with very little "baggage" but they let it effect every aspect of their lives to the point it was impossible to be with them, or them to be with anyone. Same goes for men. As you say, it's all in how you carry your baggage, and at my age there is no such thing as baggage free.

I havn't met anyone without some sort of baggage.....

Well, that would explain why so many men here act as if they are God's gift to women. If you want to know what I am talking about, then just look at their OPs in the Newcomers Welcome Area. Such men are known to use for their main images photos of them without shirts on. My guess is that such men end up here because of their own baggage.

Assumptions about beauty and personality are about the same as assumptions about any other combination.

Pretty people face jealousy, resentment, predjuiced just like anyone else. Sometimes they can over come it or at least cope with it and some can't. You get told often enough you are a "B" because you are popularly what is considered beautiful you do tend to get tired of it. Not like you were in charge of your genetic gene pool. A lot of beautiful women eventually play down or destroy their looks just because they get tired of only being just the face, or boobs, or whatever.

Yeah, my dad used to say: she could be the most beautiful woman in the world, but there is at least one guy who can't stand the sight of her anymore. He was explaining that it is what is inside that counts. My dad used to say that marriage was like the Baskin Robbins- with 31 flavours, why settle for Rocky Road. I don't I can print much else of what my dad used to say. He used a lot of er, colourful metaphors.

When I see a hot chick or a hot man that is not what comes to my mind. I usually like to get to know someone before I judge people. I also don’t like to connect with people by trashing others. Not sure what the purpose is of this thread.

The only other thing that comes to my mind is that “hot” is not universal. I learned long time ago that just because someone is attractive looking it doesn’t mean I am going to be attracted to that person. Kind of important to remember.
