So, I am working in a restaurant on the weekends. Chances are some people will ask for certain baseball games to be put on tv today. Are they being rude?

In a bar is the only time I watch TV. I'm just too cheap to pay for cable or one of those digital TV doohickeys (that's a technical term) to pick up local channels. I haven't really watched TV in years. But, I do have a large DVD collection.

You should ask your boss what the policy is about TV channels.

I have done it at sports bars. But I have never asked to change the channel. Usually whatever is playing I am interested in at the time so it does not bother me. I have changed stations in waiting rooms though if I don't see anyone else watching the TV.

I don't need to ask my boss. I know the TVs are there for customers. I'm asking what others think.

I always get voted down when I ask them to turn it to Leave It To Beaver.

I enjoy watching games at the bar. More fun with other people around who are also into the game. So I've definitely asked for a Caps game, Nats game or Maryland game to be turned on!

I'm not sure how it came to be but I do think sports has become the excepted bar viewing. Here we have huge sport viewing areas that are actually quite nice. A new one opened up at the Palms and in it is a row of seats that are reserved for members who pay 10 grand to keep their names on that particular seat. Of course here I would think that nothing plays in these areas and bars but sports because of betting.
