in a PRIVATE room or PRIVATE home, its rude to just come and change the channel,, it is NOT Rude to ask if the channel CAN be changed

everyone has the perogative to say no

in a PUBLIC establishment, the PUBLIC often dictates whats on, and the VENDOR usually can be asked to turn the television to a certain channel for his PATRONS,, which usually only requires the simple task of vERIFYING whether other patrons are already ENGAGED in whats on

,,beyond that,, this is really the most extreme case of nit picking I have ever seen in these threads about politicians
