The "insufficent permissions" error your getting, is that when you're in your browser and trying to download the file or is it when you try to install the program?

What is the exact "insufficent permissions" error you get, word for word?

By the sounds of it there is only one way that you will resolve this...

Do you have your restore or re-install disk that came with your pc???

It sounds like your missing system components that can only be restored by a new installation of the WIndows you have.... it is very easy...but you must have the disk in order to run it..partitioning your HDD is difficult and likely to cuase a system crash if you do not know what your doing...the installation will re-format your hdd and it will do it properly...

I just glanced through the last coupe pages, but you have AVG and another spyware program running at the same time? They could be conflicting with each other. I would keep AVG and uninstall the other and see if that helps any.

It probably won't catch anything. Antispware/antiviruses don't make mistakes. Make sure the database is updated.

IF it really is a virus, then the only way to get rid of it is to download a different antivirus program (which you can't since it won't let you) or remove it manually which requires trial and error and is hard without doing it myself.

can you access her 'puter remote?
I do have "show my P.C." installed on my computer.

Those errors may be nothing. What I need to know is the disk health percentage and amount of days. If you open the program, toward the top there should be an area that says 'Disks' and under that a blue 'show disks' place to click. After you click that, it should give a health percentage and an amount of days power on time

No problem luv! If you buy one used, have them run that program on it first and don't buy it unless it's at 100% Also, the fewer days of 'power on time', the better. Good luck!

I'm going to be buying a new laptop. If you want my HP 2000, you can have it.

I'm keeping the RAM though, so you'll have to buy RAM for it, but everything else is good on it. It has a DVD burner and Windows 7 Premium.

Let me know if you want it, and I'll let you know when I get a new laptop.

I want to get the new Samsung Series 8. I have an RV511 now, and it's still pretty awesome.
