The Abscence. Based out of Tampa (birthplace of death metal). They are pretty badass. Check em out.
Also Dark Tranquilty (already mentioned). Highly recommended. Very similar to Insomnium. |

Forbidden's..."Through eyes of glass" When I think "melodic death metal"...I think of slow tunes. I keep my mp3 and Fire loaded with all sorts of genres for work. All the songs I got are either faced paced for work or catchy as hell. "Through eyes of glass" is the slowest metal song I got. |

Actually...now that I think of it....
It ain't "DEATH!!!!" metals but, for sheer bad@$$ed metal guitar talent...check out Steve Vai....or Ingwie Malmsteen....late 80's early 90's. Those boys could hang with the best of em. |

This song doesn't really fit into the death metal scene IMHO, but it is still an amazing song. I personally like the flow of Victory Song by Ensiferum.
