Obamacare does not have to be repealed to get rid of it. Our tax system is old and broke. New tax reforms or a new tax methods could change everything and Obamacare would be history.

I think that is one of the reasons Chief Justice John Roberts looked so pleased with himself

Congress can also vote to defund it and it will be dead in the water.

one never knows, but I doubt it, and this is why

as the supreme court ruled, it is within congressional authority to impose taxes

the proposal, which offers MANY things that most americans do agree with :such as no turn away for preexisting conditions and keeping children on their parents insurance in early college years,, for example puts requirements on insurers that must be paid for

out of equity, those provisions cant be kept, those requirements cant be placed upon the insurers without BALANCING out the responsibility for the costs which is what is done when we compel citizens to own insurance

the private argument insurers have used for not taking on certain citizens is the cost,, with more people in the insurance pool, that cost is significantly reduced,,,,

its a balance, required to hold on to all those provisions the american public DOES WANT,,,and IM thinking it will stand so long as the republicans dont pout and fear tactic and boycott working to bully a reversal,,,,

Obamacare is an entitlement which historically have proven to be almost impossible to remove. Politicians look at removal of entitlements as a one way trip out of office. Look at the difficulty congress has with dealing with the already existing entitlements! It is unlikely that Republicans will gain a super-majority of the Senate.

What is more likely, IMO, is for the US government to acquire new debt so fast, due to an interest rate increase, that the country goes bankrupt and entitlements start to fall one by one. When interest payments on the national debt eat up most of the annual budget, services will fall quickly.

That is third grade math Harmony and I disagree with you when you say the American public DOES WANT certain provisions like eliminating pre existing condition clauses and allowing parents to insure children to age 26....the "American public" I talk to DOES NOT WANT any part of Obama care...And why would someone cut off their nose to spite their face?... If insurance companies can't meet claims, they should stop building multi million dollar high rise office buildings and paying CEO's exorbitant salaries...They should stop funding hefty pensions plans for those same CEO's....Nope, I'm not buying it Harmony...Obama's health care reform bill is just aanother entitlement program for lazy Americans ...AND WITH THE SUPREME COURT RULING IT BECOMES THE BIGGEST SINGLE TAX INCREASE IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY... I hope it kills his chances for re-election and brands hims as the biggest liar to ever "try" to lead our country.....

I have found that we tend to attract and be attracted to likeminded people. So most people you speak to probably oppose and most people I speak to probably support. But non INDIVIDUALS whose business it is to survey are finding most do support the provisions

from reuters

Support for the provisions of the healthcare law was strong, with a full 82 percent of survey respondents, for example, favoring banning insurance companies from denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.

Sixty-one percent are in favor of allowing children to stay on their parents' insurance until age 26 and 72 percent back requiring companies with more than 50 employees to provide insurance for their employees.

and Im totally lost on what laziness has to do with a tax......

although I do understand how the title of 'lazy' helps gather support from all those who consider themselves not lazy,,,,

there are probably far more working poor who need healthcare than there are 'lazy' people

Well I hope you are not totally lost on what laziness has to do with entitlement programs and how entitlement programs affect taxes...And the funny thing is, I don't understand how the word lazy gathers support from people who consider themselves not lazy...Makes absolutely no sense....

As for the last statement, I seriously doubt it.....

Like the old welfare system, oBummercare can be watered down and new restrictions to the point it will eliminate itself.

Without quality Dr.s accepting it, obummercare will only pay those Dr.'s no sane hospital or clinic will hire.

Exactly, and I foresee a lot of fraud and misuse along with it.

let me explain

most people feel like they are 'trying' and being productive

some people are rewarded for that productivity with an INCOME while others arent

often times, the income earners are attracted to the simplistic explanation that those without income must be either unproductive or lazy,,

helping fuel the uproar about any entitlements those non income folks have ,

because it can be painted as a reward for the 'lazy' being paid for off of the had work of those non lazy citizens (those earning incomes)
