You may be right, depending on the expectations you entered with; but for me the forums have been a great source of emotional support, fun, laughter, and inspiration.

I agree, the number of users on the forums is dwindling, I think it would be an excellent and much needed idea for the owners to invest in some more outside world advertising to bring in new members. All sites that are large do this on a continual basis. In North America, the one and biggest factor that brings in business and clients is advertising.

This is true. Word-of-mouth is a false myth, as far as its being a factor of getting business. True, in some businesses, with a nieche market with no nieche-competition in a particular retail sector, word of mouth is big. This in my experience is restricted to businesses who cater to lingual or national minorities. A Hungarian travel agent will always make a mint in a large city with Hungarians, and a Greek wedding caterer will always make a killing in a community with a large greek segment, as examples.

Matching singles on automatic, is not such a language-restrictive nieche market. So if the business is to survive, advertising must happen.

when you say the site sucks, that's harsh. But basically a good boss will always listen to its most vocal and rudest employees and clients if he wants to find the problem areas where the business needs improvement.

I re-read my post. I found that if I strictly adhere to my advice, if I were the owner, then the problem as voiced would be that the
"business sucks". So to improve that problemo, we would need to change that from sucking to f)king. "F)ck this business."

This I intended as a joke. Self-criticism as to the value of my own advice, employing a trans-lateral shift in meaning in three areas: intention, facts, and one conceptually invalid factual-figurative switch.
