I started dating a Baptist minister and we have talked about being together in the future, BUT do I really need to convert in order to be accepted?

I am devoted to my faith and wouldn't want to choose between him and God what

What does your boyfriend say about it?

I never date cops or ministers. No matter how nice they are. noway

I would date a cop, no problem. As long as he or she would guarantee that I will never get arrested or punished by law for any of the misdemeanors I commit.

Similarly, i would date a minister who could secure me a good spot in the afterlife, in a way that is proof that it's not just his own words that guarantee that promise. A believable, foolproof, atheist-criticism proof binding promise that he or she, the minister date of mine, can get me an afterlife that is better than what I actually deserve, then I'll date her.

I dated one minister in my life, she was a sectarian, a Unitarian minister. This was like oh, at least twenty-five years ago.Maybe thirty. She was tall, very tall, built, but not a head-turner. She was English by birth, and very desireous of the flesh. Her children were only five-ten years younger than I. She belonged to a high-IQ society as well as being an ordained minister. My friends made fun of me for dating her. She was very good in bed, but she had one horrible habit, which was that she shaved her legs only to an inch above her knees, and up from that point she had quite storng and dark hair. Made me have to concentrate to enjoy sex despite it, and not puke. It was her holy and meek way of expressing a feminist stand. She did resent living in a world where the male domination was so apparent in business, the military, religions, family life and ballroom dancing.

My guess is that she's dead by now, or at least very old. Severial decades ago she got posted in Pennsylvania somewhere, and we lost touch.

--------------

I also dated some other women in the professions: a doctor, seven accountants, thirty-two office receptionists, five charwomen, a lawyer, two travel agents, and an a state executioner / torturere from another country. I dated ex lovers of prime ministers, (only one, though), the ex wife of the Toronto Transit Commission, five filthy rich *******, two social workers, three civil servants, one lion tamer, and so many hookers that I can't count that high. Oh, and four librarians, not just girls who reshelf, but bona fide M. Sc.-s of Library Science. Trhee M.Ba.-s, and a mathematician. Never a Ph.D. other than in medicine, law or divinity, that is, never a scientist or humanities professor.

But I never dated a cop, or a jail guard, or a judge. The lawyer was a corporate lawyer, heading the company library, and in charge of wordprocessing and computing services and of adherence to company and legally predetermined standards and practices -- she had nothing to do with court.

---------

Of the lot, two of the kinds were interesting: The charwomen were by far the best in bed, they had the best bodies, hands down. They had worked a lifetime of cleaning houses, so their bodies had been constantly employed in mildly demanding resistence training, and therefore their muscle tones were the best, best, best. If any of you want your daughter to marry well, for her looks, please think about training her to become a charwoman, or as they call them in America, a cleaning lady.

The doctor was fun, she would do anything I asked, or even did not ask. During their training, doctors need to learn how to deal with a large number of disgusting stuff, which involves coming in contact with extracted or automatically self-excreted bodily fluids of sick and smelly people very often, and sometimes wading knee-deep in human bile. So any disgusting but sexy act they'll be happy to comply with. The state torturer was a sweetheart, really malleable as a lover, and very loving, giving. The only one of the entire lot I could not handle and who made me angry and feel ashamed, whom would regularly make me cry "in my anger and in shame", to quote Paul Simon, was the lion tamer.

Oh, I almost forgot: there were four teachers as well, three high school and one elementary.

I am not sure if I overcommunicated on the topic "I never would date a cop or a minister", but this thing needed to have been said at one point.

Wux, if you are not going to put your stories in book form, I am going to start printing them out and do it.

Thanks, Richie, but the problem is not to put them in a book form; the problem is finding a publisher for it, and an even bigger problem is finding anyone who woudl be willing to read it.

My brother doesn't even read the books I put together. My uncle does not. My cousin and his family does not. My friends do not. My psychiatrist does not. My nieces and nephews do not. My best friend did not (before his suicide.) My lovers do not.

With that start, why would I want to do the effort?

I actually agree with you, my books are good, and the many more I could put together would be good, but aside from you and me, nobody would read them. Yes, I think some would say they are good books, some would say they are bad books, but all would agree on not having read them.

Dating a minister

I wouldn't have a problem dating a female minister, especially taking into account that females are not allowed to preach or teach in church and are to remain silent and not allow to preach from the pulpit during services

I'll go to church just to see how she would pull this off, it would be worth ten percent

a possible loophole would be if it's an all female church and she used sign language from the pews and not the pulpit....

but being a guy and since women are not allowed to teach to men I couldn't attend anyway and have to watch it on youtube or DVD
