I try to keep a salsa based and citrus based salad dressing in my fridge because they are lower calorie. And the spritzer dressings seem not to drown the salad especiall if you put it on and then cap the bowl for a quick toss. I did find a grater helps add some of the veggies that are not so chewable.
Just visualize yourself a beautiful mermaid as you swim and it will give you a boost. Glad to see you staying on track. Checking your thread is helping me try to behave. Tell you if I make any progress after I see the doc. I don't weigh at home it is too much stress for me. |

My Dr suggested using a measuring tape gauge improvement better than a scale. |

Weight Watchers suggests you have your salad dressing on the side and dip your fork in it. That way, you consume less dressing without noticing a big difference.

Yipee! I did not loose but I did not gain either since last doc visit. He was very happy. Said given the "greif" stress I have been under and forced inactivity with eye surgery that is a good thing. Blood pressure and breathing better he doesn't want to see me for longer time next appointment.
The idea about the tape measure sounds like a good one. I do know I had to take up my walking shorts. Did expand my horizons (lol not my waisteband) a little bit. Tried a new Korean resturant. Awesome seafood tofu place. Tofu is very good for women especially because it is good for bones and the silent killer of women heart disease. Lots of veggies and you can always bring home half for second meal so cheap eats. Since many asian places serve the ricebowl seperately you can just ask them to skip serving it and the temptation. Now if I could only get good at chopsticks. lol |

Good morning every one. A tip for exercising that works for me . . .when walking,swimming,doing sit his etc. start out with a small goal and after a week push your self to add more. slowly increasing your work out.:) I know it sounds like I'm a 5 year old, but this works...put stickers on your calendar. I record my weight each day (NADS - naked at dawn) and I give myself a sticker on the days I work out. It's easy to see my workout patterns and is that silly little motivation to earn a sticker that actually works (despite my age!) Caveat: Stickers are for whatever is my norm or my new reasonable goal...for example, if I am used to doing 20 minutes on the elliptical and I do a quick 5 minutes in the morning - no sticker. If I say a 2 mile walk, I don't get a sticker for going to the mailbox. |
