After much thought I've come up with my list of a few qualities as to what makes a woman a lady. If I were to use a single word it would be poise. Also, I think that a true lady is more rare these days in the USA than a true gentleman is. This is likely due to the influence of feminism (which is seldom the same as femininity) She knows femininity isn't weakness, but female strength. She's assertive, but not aggressive. She's insistent, but not demanding. She's sexy, but not slutty. She's submissive, but not anyone's doormat. She's modest, nurturing and vibrant. She's stylish, informed and educated. She can disarm with a smile and a wink. *She's charming and gives attention to details.

I'll have to put some thought into it before I have my list of qualities, but Myrna Loy was head to toe a lady. Myrna Loy- I watched every Thin Man movie. Still have a crush on her.

Cause ...I am a gentleman. :) P.S.....as far as "She's insistent, but not demanding."...that is just splitting hairs.

I have been reading on psychology today that there are 4 types of people. Explorer, Builder, Negotiator and something else. Which ever one/s you are determines which type you are compatible with. I will start a thread on it today. Director. It was a test created by Helen Fisher I believe. For the record, I am a negotiator. :) Is there a non-spam site you can take the test on?

I found it interesting that I scored low on dictator...there are people who would say I'm terribly bossy, stubborn and opinionated. And I manage people for a living. Time for a career change?

Not sure I see where being submissive is being a lady. If she wants her man to take the lead, she must submit to him.
