I've AVG-2012 The Free One until I can pay for the good one. I scan my computer earlier . It came back to say there was 10 items, each one corrupted section win32k.sys. [which I don't know what it means] But when I go to get rid of it. It says Hidden by a rootkit-- usually used by a malicrous software. Also it wants to know if I really want to delete these 10 items. Since I really don't know, could someone explain in simple words. The way I see it is that there could be a visus on my computer,is this right? Also what am I to do? I've Avast and AVG..

Uninstall AVG or Avast. I would get rid of AVG. Having more than one antivirus creates conflicts and false positives.

Then rescan to make sure that was the issue.

Also You should have a good spy/adware scanner. I recommend Spybot Search and Destroy.

Make sure you keep Windows updated as well.

AVG just sent me a message says that no spyware has been found. Is Avast better than AVG??

Avast is WAY better.

fix'd

also the thing that infected your comp is probably designed to bypass detection, there's some nasty ones going around.
If you have the time and skillset I'd backup your stuff and start from scratch to be certain, takes about 14 hours depending on your bandwidth and OS, and programs.

Been using my comp with just the free version of avast for about 3 years now without issues, but never forget to do ad / flash /script blockers on sites you don't trust - some of those banners ads look like notification from installed software, but really aren't.

I use IE for my banking, chrome for my p0rn and firefox (fully secured) whenever I go to more "interesting" sites.

Not nice to "fix" others quotes.

I don't recommend IE either. You're better off just using FF. I haven't used Chrome, nor do I ever plan to. Just a preference is all.

Tyhe file your talking about is a file that your system needs in order to function properly. Keyword sther eare system , .sys file extension and 32 all words contained on a system file that you may not want to mess with..

Outside of that a system restore or re-install will most likely work for corrupted files if you still have a recovery or install disk...
