there are news reports that are saying that boston and minnesota are still trying to get a deal done. the latest being garnet to boston for al jefferson and theo ratliffs contract. telfair and/or greene could also be included.

if this deal is completed boston just vastly improved their team and can make the eastern conference playoffs better.

If that deal is completed Boston just threw away its future because it includes both Green and Telfair to go along with Jefferson and Ratliff. You cant trade Green and Jefferson for that guy granted KG is pretty good but I would like to see them keep their future

ok this deal would be great, we would give up jefferson though, but we would be great for like 5 years, allen, pierce, garnett

jeferson would be a loss as young/talented as he is but you're getting garnet in return. the part about greene and telfair isn't a sure thing and they didn't say that boston would have to include both.

Ya they did say Boston would have to include both now there going to give away 5 players and 2 future picks for 3 years of service. There is no future for Boston now

i read a report from before it was finalized so they didn't say that they would have to include them both and two first rounders. i was surprised when i heard the deal this morning. it looks good on paper with the 3 all stars but they don't have a bench to go to and with 3 starters at 30 years old they are going to need one.

right now i think they are 3 short of the 15 man roster and i don't know how they will fill it. the big 3 they have now have huge contracts.

Plus Boston got that Young guy out of LSU in the Draft.Big Baby Glen Davis??

tough spot to be in with aging starters, no bench and the very real possibility of not having a backup center.

we'll see how it works out for boston and for how long but minnesota seems to have gotten a pretty fair deal too.

Gman;

In case you hadn't noticed - the Celtics haven't had a future since Lenny Bias dropped dead. They've been so mismanaged over the last 20 years, tat they can't give their tickets away. Even the Bruins have more popularity in this town than the Celtics do. And as long as Brady and Bellichick are bringing home the trophies - it'll be another 20 years before anyone cares. And since the seasons overlap - the only way they'll get fans into the Garden is if Ainge brings in Larry Bird to coach the team.

Man if the new big three (Garnett/Allen/Pierce) can all co-exist they will be extremely dangerous in the east.

I have noticed but even though they messed up the draft this is not the time to just throw everything away. You dont give up that much for that little. I think the Ray Allen move was bogus what they really should have done was tried to move up one to draft Conely from Ohio St. and then the following year draft Roy Hibbert from Georgetown who has way more fundmentals than Oden. I can see Boston this year making the playoffs and prob next year too but after that they are right back where they where last year with out a bloosming AL and Green and two 1st round picks

Let us not forget how weak their division is. I think the only question mark right now is their bench.

It will be interesing this year though. It will be the first time since the Bird - Parish - McCale era that there are 3 players on the team who have at least seen an all-star team.

The Rumors are now saying that the C's are looking to add PJ Brown, maybe troy hudson, matt barnes, or other free agents.

barnes resigned with the warriors but boston did sign scot pollard to the minimum. now they have 12 men signed. they need one more to be at the league minimum.

boston now has the 15 under contract to reach the minimum. they signed posey from miami and he'll most likely be there starting small forward.

We here in MN are going to
miss KG. It wasn't his
choice to leave, but the
Celtics are a good team.

ohwell

he is an outstanding player hiker. the celtics definitely wouldn't have as good a shot without him. i still don't think there bench is good enough to get them through the playoffs.
