How do I block a user from contacting me or viewing my profile? I happen to find someone who is not who he says he is and I no longer wish to have anything to do with him. Is this possible?

You can use any Report feature on Profiles, Email,
Nudges and Forum threads to notify about problems.

You can also 'Block' a user from Email, Nudges and
'Instant Messaging' using that feature.

You cannot stop anyone from viewing your profile,
only from contacting you.

Anyone can look at anyone's Profile at any time.
What they cannot do is see any match choices
on your Profile page, as there are none there.

If you are confusing the Profile and the
Account page, NO ONE can see your Account
page except you.

They can see your 'Friends' and your 'Testimonials'
on your Profile if you allowed it in your preferences.

The thing is this is an open site, meaning that anyone can read posts in the forums and view profiles, even without an account. That's just the nature of the internet now a days.

You can block anyone from contacting you. You can also block them from sending nudges, or instant messages.
On the email, just look below their text, (near the right side of the page) you will see the "block user" link.
You can also block from Instant messenger.
Nudges can be blocked. To the right side of the nudge, you will see "block user"
Blocking from any one of these features will block all three.
In addition, when you click "report user" on the persons profile, you are given an option to block.
* You cannot block someone from viewing your profile. Profiles are public.

For more detailed instructions, you may also want to see our help section, located at the very top of the page.

I have someone I do not feel right about. I have blocked many guys with no problems. This guy, no matter how many times I block him, he still appears. What can I do about this?

hi 1reallady4u,

Email markecephus (you can click on his picture here to take you to his profile) with the user name (don't post it in here) and he can look into it.

Good luck,

Kim

When you have a person blocked and they try to send you an email what happens on their end?
Are they notified they have blocked or that their email won't go through? In other words does the person ever know they have been blocked?

No one is told they have been blocked.
It pretty much stays the same process,
but a 'Blocked' person might notice that
their Minglemail to you is perpetually
'unread' or a Nudge gets no response, or
an IM does not go through.

But that can happen to anyone :-)

Does blocking automatically take them off your friends list? Or do I need to do that too?

Well, I am going to go test that,
then we both will know :-)

Interesting, because I 'Blocked' a 'Nudger' on
my Friends List and it did not change anything
on the Friends List.

So, I would say No, you have to do that too :-)

If yot block a user that is on your friends list, what happens to the 'friends' thingy. Do they remain on your friend list? Or do you have to take them off there also?

If you read above, you will see that yes,
you have to remove the Friend from the
Friends List also.
