QUESTION What’s the difference between ‘factoid’ and ‘fact’? Is there even a difference? ANSWER Yes there’s a difference between the two. A ‘factoid’ is an insignificant or trivial fact. Something fictitious or unsubstantiated that is passed off as fact. While ‘fact’ is something that actually exists or is known to exist or to have happened. http://www.goodenglish.org.sg/improve/english-as-it-is-broken/factoid-vs-fact |
