Been over to my youngest son's house tonight..cleaning up his bike...we're going riding this weekend!

I'll have Another? He's trying for the Triple Crown..Should be interesting. I've always liked Ruidoso, but I prefer Cloudcroft. Yep...could be a Triple Crown winner! He was named for cookies, not drinks :) I also prefer Cloudcroft...you know there was a big fire on Burro Street a year ago? My favorite block of old buildings burned. Too sad! If you head up toward Sunspot from there are many gorgeous drives and up one of those canyons is where my son did his Eagle Scout project. I used to keep my hiking boots in the trunk because it was not unusual for me to leave my house in Alamogordo to go to Walmart and then end up at the Railroad Trestle Trail (or somewhere there) for a hike. I always called that my "altitude adjustment" when I was stressed or worried. Good medicine at 10K feet! |

Never hiked that trail..but have been there many times. You can go all the way down to the old trestle...I think it's about 5 miles overall. Steep in some places but a relatively easy hike. Try it out! |
