Ok, many of you know me as not being a frequent poster in this forum but I do read the threads and watch the vids of UFO reports. Many quite convincing and many...well not so much. So please excuse me if this comes off as a stupid question but I can't come up with an answer for myself and so I turn to the experts...

Why do UFO's need lights on their crafts? I can understand that there could be many reasons for this. Signalling each other, communicating in a Morse code like fashion. Maybe even useful at their own base as a means to land, light up the area and so on.

But why here? Why in our skies? We have all seen the photos of earth from space and we are lit up like a Christmas tree at night. Even our aircraft don't use such bright lights while in flight but only when landing...at night.

And yet so many vids show UFO's lit up during the day, flashing lights at night etc. It's certainly not needed to see us from the sky and definitely not the best way to go unnoticed if that's the goal.

It's to scare off the birds. Everybody knows aliens are terrified of birds........

It's so they can get a better look at the hookers on the side of the extraterrestrial hyways.

Because humanoids like bright shiny things

aliens are: alien. They do alien things. Things that are alien.
Maybe this is the way they communicate.

Besides,they don't want to be booked by some overzealous Cop,and charged with driving without Lights!

I think they visited Florida first. They saw all the turn signals that were on there constantly, from one destination to the next, and thought they may arouse suspicion if they had no constant, bright blinking lights in their own vehicles.

Don't you mean why do alien space craft need lights?

A UFO is unidentified. Not all of them have lights. Some of them are just balls of light.

They need them to get their inspection sticker!

Hopefully they won't get run into if the other ship doesn't have properly working sensors

They have some sort of spot light or beam that shines on the ground below.

They are looking for cows.

These youtube videos are really getting long. Some are hours long.
You tube must have a monster computer. I hope it doesn't turn intelligent, become conscious and take over the world.

I think the bigger question should be that if they're going the speed of light and they turn on their headlights, what happens?

If they didnt Close Encounters wouldnt have been as good of a movie.

I think that you are assuming that UFOs are space aliens. They are probably nothing more exciting than secret aircraft.
