What do you say or do in the name of political correctness or just to get along that you really deep down don't agree with or believe in?
I say I believe in God sometimes (when I'm around religious types) when I honestly don't have much use for religion at all. |

I really try not to fall into that trap. If you don't like what I believe or how I voice my opinions that is your problem and not mine. Deal with it.

When women ask appearance related questions, most of the time my honest answer is "I don't really care".
But I usually hunt, as fast as I can, for something both honest and positive to say. |

I agree hanged...I am not politically correct to keep the peace...My opinions are mine and not someone elses...If they don't agree that's fine, but it doesn't mean I have to think the same way they do either.
I don't believe in organized religion either and I will tell any religious person that if they ask and my reasons why, they are valid to me and that's all that matters.

Not that I claim not to care about the appearance of women, its just that when they -ask- its usually on a level of specificness which I just -don't- care about.

I do the same about the whole size issue with men.
Yes, honey, it's huge. Really, size isn't that imoprtant.

This political correctness seems to apply to my work ALOT~~!!! I usually have to bite my tongue and walk away from the situation .......this is very hard for me to do!
And they wonder why I am so quiet????

Political correctness needs to go away with a lot of todays ideas........bring back the old ways of doing things......and maybe our society will benefit..........parents being parents........teachers being allowed to teach...people helping each other out of the good of their heart...and so on..................I do at times wish that I could of lived when times were simpler, but took a lot of hard work

i got another vote here for the 2x4 method. i've stuck my foot in my mouth once or twice, but pretending or being fake "because it's the thing you're supposed to do" will get you nowhere in my honest opinion.
of course, sometimes i'll make fun of the whole PC phenomenon with saying vertically challenged instead of short, racially talented instead of X color skin, etc. i think it's really quite messed up that people get offended so easily. |

The opening post is not just about political correctness, but -any- circumstance in which you might choose to be diplomatic rather than blunt.

I missed the part about 'deep down' though. For me, there is no "deep down" feeling on the topic of women's shoes.
