Topic: Fifty Shades Trilogy | |

While on vacation last week in Florida, I read these three books. I will admit all the hype around these books piqued my interest. Like being banned in some public libraries, and husbands/boyfriends buying it for their wives/girlfriends.
Harliquin/Romance, bit of mystery with a lot of erotica. Universal now has the movie rights. Has anyone else read these? |

Nah, I heard they were a bit over-rated. Funny you mention Harlequin, since those books tend to be bland, for my tastes. I only read them, if someone happens to pass one to me.

it was a good vacation book(s), just not sure what the hype is all about.

I read the trillogy. They were fair. Not going to hit my top 10 of amazing literary feats, but they were decent. Well written, and the plot was much better than I had anticipated. My husband read them after I did and even he enjoyed them. The hype is because they are Harloquiney but published as mainstream. So they have been dubbed as "mommy porn" the book on every suburban mother's nightstand. They are not any worse than any of the romance novels that I had read in the past, but they were a bit more S&Mish than any of the Romance novels ever got, which is the next part of the taboo.
All in all, not bad reading, I actually really liked them, and have read them twice (as they are on my nook and thus easy travel books). |

You could have shared them to my Nook and I wouldn't have had to pay for them!!!!! But they are next up on my reading list. |

you should have told me you had a nook and I would have shared them!! Most of what I have on my Nook are books for school, but if you want to read "If I stay" or "Throne of Fire" let me know.. I'll look and see what else I have too and let you know.
but DEFINATELY read them. I know you well enough to know you will enjoy them greatly. |

I have a feeling someone else will be reading over my shoulder...
