Topic: Illegal aliens get billions in tax credits | |
---|---|
According to an NBC affiliate in Indianapolis, illegal aliens are getting billions of U.S. tax dollars in refundable tax credits for nieces, nephews, and other relatives back in Mexico, because the IRS has allowed illegal aliens to claim such credits on their tax returns, for people they list as "dependents." (Nearly three quarters of tax returns filed by illegal aliens received such tax credits). For example, an illegal alien with $14,000 in income not only paid no taxes, but received a refund of $10,000. In another case, illegal aliens used a phony address to claim 20 relatives as dependents and get thousands in refunds.
The I.R.S. has paid out billions in refunds to illegal aliens due to this refundable "additional child tax credit," which gives eligible families $1000 per child, ignoring warnings about these abuses from the agency's own inspector general. The scheme involves illegal immigrants that are filing tax returns, claiming child credits for multiple dependents . . . and collecting enormous cash refunds--such as one person's return that showed income of over $14,000, who collected a cash refund of over $10,300. In 1996 . . . the Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) was created in order for both resident and non-resident aliens, regardless of immigration status, to fulfill their tax filing and payment obligations under IRS regulations...This year tax preparation offices across the country were flooded by an estimated 2 million illegal immigrants, who in growing numbers have been taking advantage of . . . the Additional Child Tax Credit--a fully-refundable credit of up to $1000 per child. . .Segall's investigation and reporting found many illegal immigrants who were claiming these tax credits, but for kids who live in Mexico–even listing nieces and nephews. |

illegal aliens paying taxes on money they earn illegally isnt that like a thief paying taxes on the stuff he took from someones house? now THATS Crazy Infernal Revenue Code states "all income from whatever source derived" in figuring your taxes. This is about illegal immigrants cheating the system. Not paying taxes rightfully due. |

Before 9/11 and the DHS, larger drug dealers I knew were paying taxes to avoid certain aspects nessessary to obtain search warrants against them.... like under the Brady bill or something...not sure what the loophole was. They called it "protection money"
Our system of gov't has gotten so big, so corrupt, they can't even keep tabs on themselves, much less illegals.... and we expect them to get something right? Yeah, that'll happen! |

One of the workers, who was interviewed at his home in southern Indiana, admitted his address was used this year to file tax returns by four other undocumented workers who don't even live there. Those four workers claimed 20 children live inside the one residence and, as a result, the IRS sent the illegal immigrants tax refunds totaling $29,608.
13 Investigates saw only one little girl who lives at that address (a small mobile home). We wondered about the 20 kids claimed as tax deductions? "They don't live here," said the undocumented worker. "The other kids are in their country of origin, which is Mexico." He later explained none of the 20 children have ever visited the United States – let alone lived here. So why should undocumented workers receive tax credits for children living in a foreign country, which is a violation of IRS tax rules? Other undocumented workers in Indiana told 13 Investigates the same thing. Their families are collecting tax refunds for children who do not live in this country. Several of the workers told WTHR they were told it was legal for them to claim the tax credit for a child who does not live in the United States. In 2010, the IRS owed undocumented workers more in claimed additional child tax credits than it collected from those workers in taxes. |

what americans don't understand is that yes they do milk the system but on the other hand cause they'll work for basically nothing it keeps the price down on certain items.Just imagine how much a gallon of orange juice would cost if union workers were picking oranges.

I'm confused. Why would illegal aliens file income tax returns anyway? Oh yeh to get back all the money the government withholds from their paychecks in the first place!
And... damn! I didn't know there was so much money to be made picking vegetables. What kinds of jobs are these illegal aliens doing anyway? |

I understand the government is compliant, because its a big business government, and they do much to support big business and its profits at the expense of the middle and lower class workers,,, |

i would worry more how much the rothschilds got back instead of a migrant worker with 20 kids
a couple years back you could write off a 50k+ suv and the government would pay it for you i dont see anyone complaining about that because you werent supposed to even know about it people always seem to complain about the poor as rhe rich steal millions now billions and go free but were more worried about the homeless family on welfare |
