This article is making it sound like the racial economic divide is because of race. It isn't it is because of education. If you compared the average salary by race and the education by race this is clear. Asians have the highest salary and highest education on average. Also since they the only combination of non color is white white then obvious the white population goes down. If I have kids with my gf they are considered Asian. There is no mix where they are really considered white. Also white is a color. Why is it always white people and them people of color? I mean all this stuff makes it seem line it's white people vs the rest of the world. Why is that?

this is an issue to be addressed for certain. There are so many correlations which could be expressed but those correlations would have to be addressed in terms of race as well.

For instance, IF the economic divide is due to education, HOW would and why does education correlate so closely to race as to affect so clearly the racial economic divide?

I think the white people vs the rest of the world analogy is an overstatement as I am only discussing the issues in America, which was founded and continues to be run primarily by white people.

That is not a judgement of good or bad or right or wrong, its just an observation based upon the numbers...

Black people need to take a long look at themselves and stop blaming others for their economic situation. I see people of different races doing very well here. Even the illegals that come here with nothing but the clothes on their backs are working and making their lives better. They work and provide for their families with no assistance from the government and never complain. It can be done.
Real simple. Stop blaming and get to work. smile2

the issue is really not about 'complaining'. The issue being addressed is racial economic divide

the slaves could have simply kept 'working and not complaining too',, but thank goodness they didnt,,,,

The slave days are long gone and buried. Blacks have had more entitlements than any other Americans save the Indians. Both are almost totally dependent on government money and both have severe drug and alcohol problems in their communities. The racial economic divide is perpetuated by the simple fact that blacks don't work. They need to stop blaming "the man" and get to work like every body else or they will remain in the "great racial economic divide" that they are in now. It's not a slave thing or racist thing. it's a get over it and get to work thing.

this is false

natives have received checks for BEING NATIVES

blacks have been INCLUDED IN the entitlements their white counterparts ALREADY were receiving

(unlike getting money for 'being black')

HUGE DIFFERENCE

including me in a race after you already were able to run 5 miles, doesnt help close that 5 mile gap that existed when you started being so generous as to include me,,

and has little to do with whether Im 'running' or not

blacks are trying to work like everyone else, but systemically they dont get HIRED like everyone else,,,

yes, having to work twice as hard is obviously an answer

but does that work happen in a vaccuum? dont people need resources ?

the runner needs running shoes, proper nutrition, etc,,,etc,,, if he doesnt have those how can he possibly run well , let alone run TWICE AS FAST,,,,(just to keep up)?

the status quo may be good enough for the front runners, but those being left behind have the responsibility to speak up and persuade others to care enough to help do something about it,,,

Stop making excuses for them. Look at all of the other immigrants that have come to America and not only survived but succeeded. They didn't ask for help or subsidies. Sorry, I don't see this in black communities and that they will continue to blame others for their poverty. Sad.

immigrants that come to america now, unless they are illegal, have financial MEANS already,, it is required to gain entry

that is a different issue than those people who were born and raised here and pay taxes here but continue to struggle and not make progress,,,

Illegals pay taxes too. Here the illegals get up early in the morning. They have an area where they are picked up and go to work. Most are for lawn mowing, construction and such but there are many there who do find work and make progress and they came here with nothing. They buy cars, trucks many start their own businesses. I think the point is being missed here.

DId some slaves enjoy their status,,? Probably
Do some minorities find a way to elevate their financial worth IN SPITE Of unnecessary and unjust obstacles? YES

those 'exceptions' happen in all communities, that is why they are considered EXCEPTIONS,,,,yet , when compared to the MAJORITY demograhic in this country, they are disproportionately 'exceptional'

Im not talking about 'surviving', which is having transportation and feeding your family, Im talking about building a net 'worth' in comparison to other americans because it is the 'net worth' that equates to actual POWER or ability to be heard and participate in the policies and procedures of this country,,,,

Im not seeing that gap of 'worth' (as opposed to just income) making any progress in this country,,,

Well, I'm just sayin. Stop the blame game. Get up go to work and all of the other "net worth's and gaps" and what ever, will fall into place or go by the way side. If not, they are doomed a life of disproportionate dependency that will soon end. The only way out is to change from what is not working. more needs to be done,,,,

but people have to work together to GET it done and it requires more people working in positions of power and authority to help those who are powerless....

It hasn't worked in the past so what makes one think that it will now?

yes, just 'going to work' hasnt been working in the past,, so what makes one think it will now?

more needs to be done,,,,

but people have to work together to GET it done and it requires more people working in positions of power and authority to help those who are powerless....

If the negro is not happy here, they could always adopt the program offered by "one of their own", Marcus Garvey and Follow him back to Africa.

It wasn't founded by the whites. It was stolen by the whites. Many of the descendants of the people the land was stolen from still live in the prison camps, with very little education or healthcare.
