A lie is a lie. No research needed.

a neutron is a neutron too, doesnt mean that everyone has an idea what a neutron is,,,

no, when someone says they are going to do something, and then doesn't do that thing, that is a lie... intending to, wanting to, none of that matters. if your child tells you that they will clean their room, and then doesn't, that is a lie, no matter what excuse they wanna come up with.

yes, a reason presidents shouldnt make 'promises'

becase there is nothing they have the power to do by themself excpt veto,,,,

my child telling me they will clean their room, is something that requires action on noones part but theirs,,,so if they dont do it,, yes, I consider it a lie

every divorced person in the world can be called a liar by the above definitions (Even if they are abused), because they take vows to stay together,, but marriage isnt truly something you can singlehandedly make work,, you can only TRY to make it work and I doubt they would be condemned as 'liars' for leaving their marriate

there are promises made with good intentions, but because they are not truly under the control of just one person, they are broken,

and then there are promises that are never intended, or that only needed action on the part of one person who doesnt come through

I am one who views humans as tending to commit the former 'lie' much too often for me to deem them the label of 'liar'

I do hold to task the 'liar' who is guilty of the latter

different measures,,,,

what your saying is true, but saying something knowing you cannot do it is a lie also... do you not think he knows what congress or the senate wants?

they usually do by the time they run for president, because most have been some part of the political process by then

I dont recall the word 'promise' being used much, personally. But when it is used, I almost always believe it shouldnt be,,,
