The U.S. military has deployed several F-22s, the nation's most advanced fighter jets, to an allied base less than 200 miles from Iran.

The Air Force strongly denies this deployment is meant as a show of force against Iran or that it is in some way related to a potential strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. Rather, it says this is all part of a routine deployment and "security cooperation with regional partners."

The Air Force won't say how many jets were sent or exactly where they are stationed, but privately, U.S. officials have told Fox News the jets are in hangars at the United Arab Emirates' Al Dafra Air Base, a fact first reported by Aviation Week.

The F-22 has not yet seen combat. The jets were not used in Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya. They are stealth, and they specialize in air-to-air combat, but can also strike air-to-ground if needed. As one Air Force official put it, "this is America's premier fighter jet. It has no rival."

The next round for Iran nuclear negotiations, which many consider to be the country's last diplomatic opportunity, takes place on May 23 in Baghdad.

"The United States Air Force has deployed F-22s to Southwest Asia. Such deployments strengthen military-to-military relationships, promote sovereign and regional security, improve combined tactical air operations, and enhance interoperability of forces, equipment and procedures," Lt.Col. John Dorrian, Air Force public affairs, said in a written statement.

If what were doing isn't a show of force I don't know what is. First two carrier groups in the area now a bunch of F-22's. I am guessing Obama is starting to find his balls and they are finally dropping. laugh

This should have been done back in 2009.

That's why people, groups and countries have gotten over on us and given us pushback since the Coward in Chief took office in 2009.

Iranian naval admiral: ‘If needed, we can move to within three miles of New York’

http://news.yahoo.com/iranian-naval-admiral-needed-move-within-three-miles-021602873.html

The Islamic Republic of Iran said Tuesday that it has the ability to position a naval vessel within three miles of the East Coast of the United States.

“The power of our naval forces is such that we have a presence in all the waters of the world and, if needed, we can move to within three miles of New York,” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said Tuesday during a speech to the students of the University of Yazd in Iran. His remarks were quoted by an Iranian student news agency.

This naval saber rattling represents a stark escalation in Iran’s war rhetoric, as the West weighs the question of whether to impose new economic sanctions or directly attack the Islamic regime’s illicit nuclear facilities.

well,it seems it's only D**kwaving when the West does it,in the "esteemed" "Opinion" of our EU-"Colleges"!

Why does Europe love oppressive Regimes so much?sick

It is sort of a macabre fascination with totalitarianism.

Are we going to take down Iran Inivictus?

“I just got this memo today or yesterday from the office of the Secretary of Defense upstairs. It’s a… five-year plan. We’re going to take down seven countries in five years. We’re going to start with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, then Libya, Somalia, Sudan, we’re going to come back and get Iran in five years. I said, “Is that classified, that paper?” He said, “Yes Sir.” I said, “Well, don’t show it to me, because I want to be able to talk about it.”

I don't expect Obama to do anything to help Israel unless he sees some advantage in getting votes.

This is one reason I stay on here.

Are you living in a BUBBLE?

Why would Israel need help?

ISRAEl are armed to the hilt.

Peace is achieved by having superior firepower to back telling the other buy to behave "or else." Of course what happens when Diplomacy breaks down?

You do know I say "peace for the sake of peace is suicide." You know why? Since when to bullies behave themselves when "asked" to stop picking on someone? The only time I got bullies to leave me alone is when I effed them up real good. one group I actually went to war with a baseball bat on and it took breaking three of them off viciously to get the vandalism to my car to stop. Funny how most of them ran when a lone assailant with a baseball bat took on seven punk assed teens at the same time. The cops did nothing to stop them from effing up my car when I wasn't looking even after I had called them four times. But they sure as hell were on my door the next morning demanding answers but hey, I can play stupid too.

So tell me, how do we deal with belligerent nations? Ask them politely to behave and hope they do or send a flight of bombers over them to convince them to behave or else?

So what you are saying here is you are the kind of person who would turn their back on a friend? I am for invading Iran but I am not for another Iraq. If we take out the Leadership they have they will go back to being like they were in the 1970s PRE CARTER (Without the Shaw of course). That was when women there HAD RIGHTS! It is not the people of Iran I have a problem with, it is their government leaders and military leaders. I also got a huge bone to pick with Islam. So what do we do, keep letting them beat war drums until THEY get froggy? Sorry but I don't take threats lightly.

You are aware that the UN and EU are nothing but mouthy elitists trying to shove Globalism down our throats without a constitution or bill of rights.
