I seem to remember something about the soccer arena in Havana after Fidel took over, humm was it public trials and executions? The economy of Cuba would have totally colapsed by now if it were not for the money being sent there by Chavez in Venseula. What I cannot understand is if Cuba was such a great place to live, why did so many people want to leave? You can identify the worst countries in the world by the number of people leaving them and you can identify the best countries in the world by the number of people trying to get into them. If America was so bad and Cuba so great I would think the flow would be from Miami to Havana not the other way around.

The country of Cuba in itself is beautiful....white sand beaches, turquoise waters, amazing archietecture.

Of course it is communist government which makes it unbearable for most to live. Imagine the great depression 10 times worse and you can imagine an average person living in Cuba...
