KUDOS!!! We'll keep our fingers crossed for you!! Hi everyone. Voted, did my errands and made up one container pot of flowers. To early to get all of them out and growing. If, and I hope there is no more snowfalls, I can move the stand and flower pot container indoors. I know it is a wee bit early to plant (where I live) but I love to garden and cannot wait to get started! My bulb varities indoors are bursting to bloom and my violas are peeping out.. the early bloomers Thanks Vivian ... Sounds like you have Spring Fever.. I've been busy also..still designing that T shirt..a neighbor brought over a repair job for me, had to go to the store again, cause my grandson is coming tomorrow and wants a home cooked meal..lol |

Polling results are streaming in and continue to. The will of the people for Alberta has been expressed. It looks like the Progressive Conservatives (the PCs) have a majority government in this Provincial Election for 2012. Alison Redford continues on for the next four years as our Premier for Albera. Alison Redford is the first elected female Premier in (PC) history. She filled in when Ed Stelmach stepped down in 2011. I personally thought it would be a close race and a minority government would result. I was wrong.

I like Alison Redford for the woman she is having very good leadership skills. The PCs have held the government for 41 years now. Some changes did occur which will be interesting for the NDP have gained ridings and the Liberals have lost a few and the Wildrose are establishing themselves. The NDP have won more votes in this election than in any other election. Wildrose now has more than one MLA to the legislature which is another change. In otherwords the PCs seem to be losing flavor in this province and in time expect changes to continue with a stronger NDP moving in and the Wildrose Party getting stronger in this province by more ridings in the future. I do feel the Alberta legislature consisting of all Party candidates voted in, will work together well and hard to serve the Alberta families. Vivian it looks good from my persceptive and what will truly happen, only time will tell. |

The Wildrose Party is:
- an active provincial party founded in 2002 - Idelogy: conservatism - Political: Right-wing - a political party formed out of the Alberta Alliance Party and was the Wildrose Alliance Political Association, merged, and the two became the Wildrose Party of Alberta - their support by Albertans rose in 2009 as voters grew increasingly frustrated with the Progressive Conservatives or PCs - after today's election, they had won almost all the ridings in Southern Alberta - Danielle Smith is the current leader of the Wildrose Party team and Danelle won her riding, her and her team members that won their ridings will be sitting in the Alberta Legislature as an minority government working along side with the PCs in governing Alberta. The PC though will have the power being the majority. The political party who wins greater than 50% of the ridings in an election becomes the majority government. The polling stations still had results coming in when I left it and by then the PCs had won over 55% of the ridings (a riding is an area of land, an invisible boundary - rural and urban divisons) in Alberta. |

Interesting how you call them ridings. In TX they are called preceints.
Or districts. |

Robert, yes ridings are the same as preceints. When I hear the word "preceints" though, by word association, I think of the word, prison (not that I have been sent to a prison for a stay either ). And Vivian, yes and I can see Texas as I know of being a land of cattle and horses, riding would be plentiful, a lot of ridings did go on. Have a good day you two ... getting back into applications. I had another call this morning from an agency to come in tomorrow to ask me a few more questions on another position I am interested in in the area of accounting. See you later in the day on my next break (thats tea and I guess water in the other hand) balancing the ins and outs of my plumbing |
