He is an all time favorite. I have been listening to Marcel Dadi's music for over 35 years. Started back when I lived in France. Tragically he died in 1996 when TWA Flight 800 exploded off Long Island. His albums are just fantastic. He was self-taught and learned Travis picking by trying to emulate Chet Atkins recordings when he was young. Dadi later became great friends with his wax mentor and he and Chet often played together. He was a recipient of on of the rare personally presented CGP "Certified Guitar Player" awards along with a handful of other recipients they are: CGP award Chet Atkins, John Knowles, Tommy Emmanuel, Steve Wariner, Jerry Reed, Marcel Dadi, and Paul Yandell and now Saturday Night Shuffle - Marcel Dadi http://youtu.be/eA9ltJSzPQk |
