Topic: Funny how dreams work | |
---|---|
I don't know if this is something that is normal or not, but most of the dreams I have are recurring, and I'll have dreams based off of other dreams, the same dream but with a few things slightly different. I'll also have dreams with bits and pieces of others dreams in them.
I had this dream a few days ago where I got a ticket and had to appear in court. I don't remember what the tick was for, but last night I had a dream that I missed the court date for that ticket. I think I woke up before anything happened though. lol |

In my mother tongue there is a saying "Mani vase te swapni dise" Meaning 'what we see in dreams is usually what goes in our mind' Your dreams may be identical if you are thinking a lot about same thing. Do you have an inner desire to go to court? |

Dreams are definitely a very interesting subject. I often wonder what they stem from.
I often has the same nightmare that somebody is trying to shoot me and they graze my arm with the bullet as I am climbing into weird van from the back doors. Does this mean I secretly want to be shot?! |

If it keeps coming back over and over, it might be a sign you need to wake and write it down. You might have a good book or short story in your head needing to get out!!

Books and stories give too much freedom to the audience. I would turn them into movies instead.

Now that is a good idea...I have recurring dreams often...some since I was a small child...and it's funny because the people in them may change faces and ages, but they are the same person or persons I was dreaming about as a child. |

My normal recurring dream is about being able to fly. And then falling and waking up.
So I don't fly on airplanes anymore! j/k |

My ex wouldn't let me have closure, but I did finally find it in a dream about him...WALLA!! no more dreaming about him! |

I was in a dream group for a while. We shared our dreams and let the person who had the dream be the one to decide what it meant. There were certain guidelines--for instance, dreams of flying are good; a dream of falling can be a precursor to a flying dream; if someone is chasing your or threatening you in your dream, confront them, ask them who they are and what they want.
Each week one or more people would recount a dream in the group. You would lie down or sit in an easy chair and replay the dream as if it was happening now. Then when being shot at, for instance, they would turn to the shooter and ask why they did that. The answers were always surprising, especially if the dreamer combined that with, "Who are you?" I joined the group because I had recurring dreams that were very distressing to me. After using their techniques, the dreams went away and never came back. I'm convinced that recurring dreams are always a way of our subconscious trying to solve some psychological issue we don't quite realize we have. In my case, it was the desire for control over my own life and a (unjustified) fear that that would hurt other people. The whole point of this dream group was that you can control your dreams and be aware that you are dreaming. It's called lucid dreaming. I was able to do it, so if I can, anybody ought to be able to if they want to badly enough. |

You're remaking your own dreams...sounds like you have an inner desire to work for Hollywood. |

That's interesting, Brava. I didn't know they had dream groups like that. you could also try Dream Journaling. Write them down after you wake up, then see what you discover. |
