the whole arm thing? hmm

did the one arm man already have a new arm?

We're talking the early 1910s here... an arm gone is gone forever!

was it a surgical miscue that cost dude his arm?
(if yes)
was that the doc who performed surgery?
(if not)
did one arm save doc and lost his arm in the process?

if he does have a new arm, explains why he tossed it
hmm brainstorming.

1: No
2: Yes
3: Ask that differently...

1/2: so doc operated on dude, but the surgery was meant to be an amputation?

3: why? its a yes or no question isnt it? ok hmm

questions:

did the dude save the doctor from "something"?

if so

did the result of "sacrifice" cost him that arm?

so the shipped arm was penance?

Kind of, yes - but for WHAT? What happened that made Guy 1 lose his arm?

did the bum have anything to do, tho i doubt it, with the event that cost dude his arm?

You see that right - he is in no way connected to the original events that led to the loss of the arm...

thats what im trying to figure out...

did he push him out of the way of something?

like a speeding car? (cars lol, they have those prior to wwi?)

they serve in a war together?

oh and

before the incident did these two already know each other?

1. No (They had, but few... and "Speeding" probably meant exceeding 15 mph!)

2. No

3. If you mean the whole story that directly lead to "the moment" as "the incident" - no, they did not know each other before that!

The Seine River is in France?

The receipient of the left arm is the body in the river?

SanneHan's photo

The Seine river is the river that flows through Paris, France, yes... but the poor corpse actually is only a distraction and has nothing at all to do with the rest of the story :D

The doctor and the man in France had a bet. That a bum would give him arm for money, and squander it only to be poorer than he was.

Otherwise......

I ain't got a........

Clue.....laugh huh laugh

No :D

Might be interesting to find out why the arm was amputated!? I mean, the Frenchie's arm, not the bum's...

wtf existed in the early 1900's that could result in losing a limb, but also permit someone else the ability to save u from doing, hmm

A whole lot of things could result in amputation - like a splinter in your finger. Remember, we are talking about pre-antibiotics time!

But who (except me) knows if the amputation had anything to do with disease or accident!?

OK ~ recap:
- the body in the river is irrelevant

- the dr. had previously amputated the Frenchman's arm

- the Frenchman did something that saved the Drs life

- the amputation saved the Frenchman's life (i.e. blood poisoning)
(or is there more to this to figure out that is relevant?)

- the remaining question is - why did the Dr amputate the bum's arm, send it to the Frenchman for 'no reason' as he only threw it away

Am I all caught up?

That pretty much sums it up, but the reason for the amputation is crucial for finding this out...

I take your

- the amputation saved the Frenchman's life (i.e. blood poisoning)
(or is there more to this to figure out that is relevant?)

as a question and answer

No, there was no blood poisoning or any other sort of bodily malafunction that would have made an amputation neccessary... at the time of amputation, the arm was in perfect condition, medically!
