Topic: Should you trust...... | |

I just look at forum posters as more sincere - plus I have a better means of getting to know them so when I do get a message there is already a foundation for a friendship
but a message from a non forum member just seems boring in contrast... |

Why are forum users more sincere? I do agree that sometimes it is easier to get to know a bit about someone from the forums, though. |

Why are forum users more sincere? I do agree that sometimes it is easier to get to know a bit about someone from the forums, though. all don't seem more sincere but most do - at first anyway - and it's just a perception, again, based on the foundation and commonality of talking with someone who you have interacted with or read posts from a lot of the messages I get from non forum members include poorly constructed english (translator use) or prases/language not indicative that they are from the US - much less local to me. So those I just delete. In contrast when someone I know from the forums messages it is a nice surprise! I do respond to non forum members sometimes - if the messages have no elements of scamarama |

people who approach you but never post in forum ever ever ever??? I never know what to say to people who don't post. I find it out that out of nowhere, they see a picture and usually don't even read my blurb and then say they like me. What are your thoughts? P.S. I used to have a quite lengthy profile where I explained that I did the Terri Remix of Religions and did not want children, etc. and it made no difference, I got more men looking for a "good Christian woman to start a family with". I told one guy that was called an "idiot hit" and he got me banned temporarily. I said it nicely but this guy wrote me with an obvious hot key script or cut and paste that was contrary to everything I said in my profile. THEN he wrote me a total obscene cuss out message for saying that when I got unblocked and came back!! And he was looking for "a good woman". Err....how about being a good man??? I find it very odd when I am friends with soooooooooooooo many good Christian women on here who want children. Why the heck are they writing me and not them????? Because you haven't sent them $1000 for their passport yet. |

I never know what to say to people who don't post. I find it out that out of nowhere, they see a picture and usually don't even read my blurb and then say they like me. What are your thoughts? It seems that some people can fall in Love/Fantasize with a Person simply by looking at a Photograph. I look at a photograph first and foremost,if I like what I see I then follow on from there. As regards Trusting a person that is a totally different matter. I have a case where a person totally trusted me and a short while later was calling me a Psychopath. There is of course one other thing that is as important as Trust and that is Total Honesty......just saying |

So far, the people I have chatted with most had posted very little in the forums. Granted, they posted a little bit, but still...
There's not really any correlation between whether they post and if they read my blurb, so why brush them off? The ones who were rarely on forums at the least showed interest in my profile and interests, therefore spanning better lasting conversations. Like someone said, the forums aren't for everyone. Personally, I converse more comfortably and freely in one-on-one messages than in a forum. |

I don't discriminate as to if they post in the threads or not.
Those of us who have been around here a long time have gotten to know the regular posters rather well. We have seen the regularity in their posts, we have learned some of their "quirks". If ya watch people in the threads ya get a sense of who they are. Being as all the regular Ladies who post in the threads are sooooooooo far away from me.... It is not a preriquisite that a interest is in the threads. Not many people near my location post. |

Maybe alot of site members here have forgotten the major objective of this site. Its to hook people up! People searching for relationships or marriages, its not really built for the purpose of a social network. SO sometimes alot of people just come here with getting into a relationship in mind and they go straight into making contacts, chatting and messaging whoever they think they are interested in. Am a member of several forums and i post regularly. But when am in a dating site, all i think of is finding the right mate and try to see if i could get hooked up and not to go looking for a community link. Just my 2 cents folks. Cheers.

Humm honestly the only ones I have dated from this site were not forum posters and rather liked it that way...Then all your business is not posted on ever thread.....
But..........then I have met several of the forum posters as friends and enjoyed the time spent with them. We have never had a get together that we all did not enjoy the time shared with each other... |
