Ask me that in September...I feel that is has given us the time to really get to know each other and talk about things that we may not otherwise have talked about had we met first in real life......You can really get to know each other well as long as both are honest and up front...That's the part I enjoy the most!!!!!!!

Warhead -- the dating is dismal because all of the people who write to me are 897,000 miles away or more. The locals (and there are MANY on the site) don't participate in the forums and they don't reply to e-mails. I would have no trouble getting a date from Kazakhstan or Paraguay here, but people from my area are persona non contacta.

ok here is the real catch.How many of these people do you think would act and treat you in real life like they do in a forum?. Do you think the internet builds confidence and or allows most people to be something their really not in real life?

I usually meet potential dates in real life situations not online but I think that for many some pressure is taken away because its easier to talk in an e-mail about certain things than it is one on one and face to face.

I have a feeling alot of people put up an act online so that is a major concern.

Well first off when you meet someone you want to get to know...You take it off the forum to e-mails and or im, then phone calls are good...You can't get to know someone based on just how they are on a forum...BUT you can get an idea of their different opinions and values and see how they treat others!!!!!!! I think by using many different mediums...Yes people will treat you the way they do in those mediums...Provided they are being real to begin with...Which always ends up being a jugement call!!!!!!!!

Yeah it seems like all the people you meet are like perfect matches. they just seem to be so far away. Then you start wondering one, if their real, two, if this is really how they are, and three what exactly are their intentions.

Well the man I am meeting lives in England...BUT I have never discounted distance because to me if I meet the right person...Things can eventually be worked out between us if we mean that much to each other...So the one thing I never did was to automatically exclude anybody based on how far they lived...I always remained totally open even though I wasn't looking for anyone...I didn't close myself off either!!!!!!!!
