And people are worried about Israel attacking Iran and rising fuel costs.

Iran's announced shut-off of oil to France and the UK had little or no impact since both nation's already had stopped importing Iranian petroleum — but it was enough to help fuel a spike in oil prices this morning, as gasoline prices continue to climb across the US.

Gas prices a fed by greed and greed only, this really has little to do with us but its a great excuse by speculators to make a ton of money.

It will still be an excuse for the British Government to increase the price at pumps as well though I fear.
When Hague announced the import embargo of Iranian oil, diesel hit its all time high of £1.49 a litre (Approx $2.36 a litre)

Although to be fair, Iran has said that it will stop supplying the EU now rather than the June deadline the EU imposed.

I dont think we should be worrying about Israel attacking Iran, I think it would be a coalition move from Nato, led by Team America and France.
Just like what they did in Libya. Personally I think Gaddafi was misunderstood, he did a lot of good for his people, he might have been a bit loon, but at least he wasn't afraid to stand up to the bigger nations. Any leader that gives free electric and new couples 50K for a house when they get married has my vote! David Cameron if you ever read this, take note.

I have a suspicion that this time next year, fuel will be £2 a litre.

Roll on biofuels!

How much is fuel per gallon in the US? Here in UK it is - £5.36 a gallon which is about - $8.90.

Here where I'm at its about $3.40 a gallon but the gas moguls are gonna jack it up to between $4.00-$5.00 a gallon for summer. Hopefully people will stay home and not travel anywhere and make them lower it.

Bio fuel can be made several different ways of which you do not need to grow anything. Old cooking oil, discarded vegetation and even garbage.

Old Cooking Oil?
Like in Peanut,or some others?
Now if they'd let you grow Hemp, that would go a long way!
Grows almost everywhere.

But I think there just isn't enough space to grow Plants for Automotive Bio-Fuel!

Besides,Old Cooking-Oil is either Sunflowerseed,Cottonseed,or similar Vegetation!

David Cameron NEVER listens. He's too selfish. A p.o.s. He will always continue being selfish. I wrote letters to him, but that's besides the point. Why should i celebrate Presidents Day, when he's done nothing but help destroy lives? He can keep his damn money for all i care *sigh *

That's what it is here to, all though one of my cars is a Diesel Bug so for the I pay close to $4.00 a gallon. I never understood why Diesel is more expensive.

Could America and western Europe actually afford to go to war with Iran? Obviously if Iran got nuclear weapons that would be bad and more than likely Israel would strike first and drag its allies into the fight but would the conflict not cripple the west economically?

I think its because it became popular, I remember diesel being about $.75 cheaper than regular gas about 12-15 years ago.

There will not be a conflict with Iran, they know Israel won't take their **** and they also know the United States will side with Israel. There is a possibility that China and Russia could get involved on behalf of Iran but I doubt it.

I agree with the hemp statement, before the oil moguls helped make it illegal it, Hemp was Americas biggest export. I remember reading something somewhere that it can be used as a fuel in a diesel engine, I was doing some late night weird googling so cant remember the source :(

Like the others have said, we really cant afford another war, we just finished Libya & Iraq, and we are still in Afghan. Another one would bankrupt all western economies.

And $5 a gallon, its still better than ours over here. Can you mail order fuel? :) Is it super taxed like us over here? We pay 80% tax on fuel in the UK. For every £10 we spend on fuel, £2 is for the petrol, £8 is for the tax man, it sux to be British right now. :(
Bring back Maggie!

Gas is 3.71 unleaded, 3.79 unleaded plus, and 3.89 premium here......but winter is our summer in Florida. Once summer hits our prices usually drop here......so we may still see somewhat of an increase.......every time gas prices predicted at 4 - 5 a gallon the reserve releases the gas reserves to keep prices lower.........

Wish we had that here, when we all protested in 2000 about the prices, within less than a week Garages round me ran out and stayed out for the rest of the protest. Petrol and diesel was around 78p then, and we all moaned, the Government caved in and reduced it by a few pence (I think about 6p).

Today its 1.43 a litre of diesel, and if we protest and stop the fuel, the Government can call in the army and police to disperse the protest.
Sometimes I feel like Britain is actually North Korea in disguise.

Give David Cameron a few years and a pair of specs, and I reckon he will be the spitting image of our late, Dear Leader.

You could all sign a silent protest of riding bicycles to work and back they have them with really small engines......it would reduce the gas purchasing to the point profits would slump dramatically......lowering prices to induce the usage of gas guzzlers again........it would have to be a concerted effort though a major national one....

They are way ahead of your thought.

Low cost housing is outside the range of good paying jobs. One must travel farther than horse or bicycle can take you to reach work and versa.

China is buying all the crude and refined product they can find.

Diesel is cheaper to refine but the price went up when the EPA made the refining process take almost all of the sulfur out.

The "fear" of an Iranian war is pushing prices up since it would probably cause the closure of the straits of Hormuz for quite a while where 20% of the world's oil is shipped.

Israel is serious about taking Iran out. They believe once Iran has the "bomb" they will not hesitate to use it on Israel.

there is another way to look at recent actions.

For Iran to continue to rattle the sabre they need food for their vehicles.

Oil.

so they get two birds for but a single action.

Cut off the oil they can then sustain operations and 'rattle the sabre' at the same time.

Dance of the Nations.

Many small steps to war (most of them stupid ones).
