Thirty years out here staying in 1000's of Motels and never Have I had what this happen,,HAPPEN,,lol
I'm watching HBO,,a knock on my door,,I look out the peep hole and see a short younger looking guy,,I open it to a small ten inch open and he says he stayed here lastnight in my room here and said he thought he keft his cell phone there? I asked,,like no not that I've seen he said it might be behind the nightstand and I said I'll check,,I re-closed my door went and checked and no,,nothing but a pipe,,drug tube,I believe,,I took it and went back to the door openned and said I found this? And then said there was nothing else there,,HE THEN ACTS LIKE YES there is,,and looking a bit intense,,as trying to come on by me,,well I THEN steped all the way out my door,,it shuts and locks and I'm like fking words and said come-on,,and started walking toward the way back to the desk,,about 100 feet on this inside hallway,,,he folowed twenty feet back,,I went to the desk with his story,,and she then asked him his name,,and when he had stayed,,he then said two nights ago,,and the room wasn't in his name it was a friends,room,,and she told him their precedures and then I had to ask her for another key,,as I walked out w/o it,,HE LOOKED HARMLESS,,BUT,,he was wanting to rip me off or hurt me to get whatever I had,,he left and she then told me she had seen him hanging around here before,,and so she called her boss and told me if he comes back,,to give her a call,,and she'll call the police...I said,,I had thought this Motel was nice and had stayed here before with nothing like this ever seeing here before,,so I"M LUCKY,,because I really believe if he would have gotten to come in here,,he had something of gun or knife to rob me with,,and YA SEE,,I THOUGHT,,I was a good guesser of people and as he looked harmless,,HE WAS NOT,,SO beware folks,, Pleasant attire and clean cut looking people,,CAN STILL KILL YO,,sheesh,,I need to REALLY not trust anyone our here... So,,thats my saturday Night,,,,lol |

Wow, that was a close one. Glad nothing came of it. I think stepping OUT of the room was a really smart thing to do (escape route, LOL). Maybe he meant no harm . . . or maybe he did. Keep those street smarts, my friend.

Well,,IF,,I had not been so close to the desk here,,and all inside,,hell no,,I wouldn't have answered the knock,,as I have had many,,of those and went unanswered,,lol,and then I'd call and tell the front desk about that,,But this dude couldn't hurt me in the hall without the desk hearing our scuffle,,BUT,,I never expected THAT from him when he knocked,,,looking like one of the other guest's here.. IT WAS A WAKE UP CALL for me to STOP thinking and just NEVER ANSWER the door,,,,lol

as soon as HE said YES THERE IS TO,,I seen that look of I'M GETTING IT,,and had to push him back and slam the door or step out so others could see and hear us,,after he left the desk and motel door,,The lady at the desk and I talked and I said he looked hyped up and very scared when talking to her and me,,
FREAKIN NUTS damn it people,,,I've stayed here like ten to twenty nights before and never seen or heard much of any bad chit,,as I TRY to always notice ANYTHING that might be bad guys, ho's, and pimps,,,lol, ALL of them I stay away from.. |

Good to hear things turned out okay.It could of turned out real bad.Never open a door at a motel untill you call the front desk,to see if they sent someone up.
I have Managed many Motels.Judging by looks is always the first mistake. Again,so glad you are safe!

I didn't open the door and told him I wasn't interested. I looked through the peephole and he just stood there for a few minutes but finally left. I called the phone company and they told me it wasn't there policy to send people door to door. So, goes to show one can never be too careful.

I called the phone company and they told me it wasn't there policy to send people door to door. So, goes to show one can never be too careful. I am always cautious before opening my door to anyone but I suspect that was just because of my military police training. I always check through the peep hole and also check my window beside the door to make sure there isn't another person hiding around the corner. You are correct though; one should always be wary before opening a door. |
