basically, i've done the opposite of what i've seen the whole world do. I swear there are days when I just clash with the whole world...I rent movies and stay home

Why are you who you are? Have your adult personality & preferences (interests hobbies) evolved based mostly on how you were raised, childhood influences? Is it more a matter of more recent influences? Or a little of both? Who or what things were most influential? Friends and certain people coming in and out of my life. I find the most influential ones tend to linger on in your memories and make you smile. I seek out people who uplift me rather than cause a chink in the chain. You can't get awesome that way. What influences me? Art....most of the great literary writers of past centuries I look up to. Classical music. Bold statements. Mostly anyone who isn't afraid to take chances and live in their dreams. Anyone can be influential in that way; to the next generation and on. so do you feel that you have been influenced more by friends than family ultimately? I think I have been influenced by certain authors - James Michner & Leon Uris taught me tolerance & compassion - love them! Mix of both. More friends than anything. Tom Clancy and Susanna Carr are more modern ones. I appreciate everything imported. Anything that's banned in schools I read.

Why are you who you are? Have your adult personality & preferences (interests hobbies) evolved based mostly on how you were raised, childhood influences? Is it more a matter of more recent influences? Or a little of both? Who or what things were most influential? my main interests are hunting and riding ATVs which have absolutely nothing to do with how I was raised. there are no other hunters in my family.

Geez, feel like this belongs in religion thread. Christ influenced me to NOT do a lot of opportunities I had. And the boy scouts. Nothing else really influenced me, other than I am totally opposite my parents (abusive folks, verbal/mental/physical).

Who or what things were most influential? my main interests are hunting and riding ATVs which have absolutely nothing to do with how I was raised. there are no other hunters in my family. some of my hobbies also have little to do with my parents....and more to do with myself but my values definitely were influenced by family & community thanks for showing up mano! when did you start hunting?

I am influenced by the common folk. The people who go to work everyday and take care of their families. is that how you see yourself choosing to live? Yes most humans contribute something to this World.

ALL my role models were TV actor's playing in PARTS that caught my eye,,and left deep impressions as to really WANTING TO BE IN THEIR WORLDS ON SCREEN,,Lassie was one,,Opie in The Andy Griffith Show,,or,,May-berry RFD,,?LOST IN SPACE,,Will Robinson was a geek,,but his robot and family really were admired. My Three Son's, Eddy And His Father, Dennis The Menace. Bonanza,,,was my family dudes. Red Skeleton Show, I LOVE LUCY, Carol Burnett Show. All of these people,,allowed ME,,to see worlds of understanding and a real sense of family love and admirations for each other within them,,,as my world was to be smack,cussed at and whipped by a drunk. SO,,my reality WAS,,LIVED,ON A TV IN MY MIND, OH,,,MY HERO,,I almost forgot to mention,,James Arnase in his series Wild, Wild, West,,THAT SHOW,,give me so much imagination and desire to be cool and tough as one person,,PLUS,,Dress really SHARP...

I have always been curious to learn new things but it has nothing to do with my childhood or how I was raised. The military helped me to explore even more new things and explore who I am. They were my biggest influence.
