No, I don't think all the royals are deeply involved. I do believe they continue to exist in an influential manner. Whether they still call themselves Illuminati, I have no idea.

I don't think they have a specific secret against the Catholic Church. I do believe that they were in direct competition for power with the Church. The Catholic Church was extremely powerful and in control of a lot. The Church bans anything it sees as a direct threat to it's power. However, exchanging Catholic Church power for Illuminati power does nothing for us average folk. I do believe that some of the early Illuminati had good intentions to free folks from oppression and abuses by the powers in charge during the 1700's.
