Its expensive to vacation.....besides I live where people vacation.... Do you pay Tax? It's nice to get away don't you think? I take it you can afford all the other things on the list... You can "get away" in your back yard...If "Americans" want to travel abroad, they will either have to be silver spoon babies, trust fund babies, hold a very high paying position, or rob a bank...America, I speak about the typical wage earning American....Abroad!! How pretentious.... I can just drive across the Chesapeake Bay if I want to mingle with loony leftists.. I don't have to fly to Europe for that.. |

I can afford a car a decent place to live and quality food yes.....I don't need healthcare for myself and health care cost are out of control because of insurance companies, research to play god and prolong life.....besides even if I get something i won't take the pills, injections, or any other thing they expect me to do to live longer for whatever reason it is that they want people to live longer. Part of the problems of the Earth and issues we face today are because people live longer. So what are your views on my original post....People who work? Who Cannot Afford XYZ |

People in America who are found to be working to full capacity, but still cannot afford the necessities for their family will receive financial aid in the form of social programs, educational assistance, job placement assistance, housing assistance, medical assistance....I am sure everyone is aware of the many programs the US has in place for those who are truly in need of them...that be truly in need of them.... |

If a medical emergency arises, I can choose a payment plan, or I can choose not to go and just deal with it. People expect too much, they choose to do too much that cost too much......you can choose days at the beach for free, you can choose to fish for free, you can choose so many things to do for free on a daily basis. So, exactly why is a vacation necessary when life can be a vacation?? I don't really understand what you are getting at. |

And this beats the heck out of being the non working poor.....I think people expect to much too...Too much for too little...Agree with Sneaks on this one....And yes, people need a break from the routine of work, studies prove it, they also prove the results are positive to production...a break or vacation does not have to mean 7 days at Disneyland at a cost of $200 per day not including travel expense and hotel accommodations...A break or vacation could just as easily mean using that week for spring cleaning... |

I never got vacations when my family was young. The extent of a vacation for me was a night out and paying a babysitter... so I moved to the beach. : ) |

I have never been a non worker so yea, anything is better than being poor and homeless I suppose. I only expect things to be fair and don't ask anything of others that I wouldn't ask of myself. I have worked since I was 15, I raised a family alone, I'm a law abiding taxpayer...I do feel health insurance is a thing my family deserved as much as anyone else yet being a poor single mom I never had any. I don't think wanting to take my kids to the doctor is asking too much. I clean vacation rentals for my paycheck....NOT using my time off for any cleaning.
You could always get a foldaway deck chair and plonk yourself outside one of those holiday rentals and pretend you were on Vacation..
How dare you to expect leisure time away from the daily grind, you should really work 364 days of the year....you can have Christmas off.

Oh I do plop in a chair at work, all the houses are on the beach. I'll sit there during a break and pretend it's my house...beautiful homes. Ya never know..if I pretend enough I may just create one of my own.
