Great post Alexia: very true that a lot of us are big. I know I used to be a lot smaller in my younger days and now hitting 50 due to changes in hormones etc no matter how little I eat or how much I excercise it just doesnt want to come off. But I do have 2 words for Rambill... Duct Tape (like for over your mouth)

To be honest, I'm not into skinny women. I just want to take skinny women out to a burger joint and feed them a big 'ol Dagwood sammich. If I had my druthers, I'd much rather be with a plus-sized woman rather than a slim one.

i am going to go out on a limb here and say what many are afraid to say; if you, meaning the person, man or woman are overweight, and have a chip on your shoulder about how others should cater to and view you, than you are the one with issues.
that being said, big beautiful women, fat guys and overaged, balding, hairy back guido's all belong to some group or another, and seem to be quite content with that, and may or maynot have the heartfelt opinions of others as well.i am about 15-20 heavier than i want to be as well, but, that being said, i don't yell it out loud and proud...i try to take better care of my own actions and expect no less that the same from potential mates. if and when i give up caring about my own weight and appearnce, it is telling; it says i don't care about my self, why should i care about you...sorry, but the truth hurts...i compete with young twenty somes and thirty year old with toned bodies...i also know i am a good person and try to better my own self as well...trying to hide behind some (insert your group)_____ pride doesn't do anything except to send others further away from you....i heard on the radio today, the average dress size in america is size 12; most woman want to be a size 8...go figurei won't and will not date some one my own weight or larger, that being said, many women and men alike, depending on their frame, carry a larger body mass quite well, but lets face it, fat is fat, when you are fat, and if you can't step away from the plate, how can i expect you to handle a relationship as well...if this labels me shallow, so be it; i date all kinds, black, white, skinny, large tall and short, what matters is how you take care of yourself is how we, the public, view you...

then you hit the target right on when i said that you don't care and it shows....truthfully, i have to ask myself then how does she translate to me? if i have to maintain a image of a good and decent attractive man, to 1) find and woo a potential mate, 2) to better my social image in a clean professional manner and 3) my own health issues, now and future, i am afraid when it all adds up, i have to go with not only bettering my own self, but the potential of my own future mate as well. if want to get petty and bitter, and defend your own views and how you feel "we" should accept you, feel free; i did not stoop to lower myself and issue such negative views about one person in general; wallowing in self pity, is pure denial and that, my dear is not just a river in egypt...i admitted my own weight and health concerns, i also suffer from depression and seziures; do i expect pity or acceptance from others, by carrying a flag and proclaiming i am (insert your group)_____ here? no; life is a ***** and what others see us as is what life is all about...i hate it as well as others, but unless you, i and countless others, either change our comfort patterns, or what ever traits that control our lives, we will continue to be judged and when some one stands us up or no one seems to want to be with us, or we live with 300 cats and wonder why we can't get a date, the blame lies within, not in others...being bitter at the world is a huge waste of time, and targeting me, and me alone, as the person who you feel thinks you sit arround eating bon bons, is dead wrong and i am sorry you feel as you must...no one likes paris hilton, but yet we stay glued to the train wreck as it goes along...sorry
