Topic: Attacking the words or the person?

I'm posting this in several forums. Delete it if you must.

When someone presents statements, arguments or logic that is somehow flawed or contradictory, that is fair game. Everyone who has read my posts knows that I will attack what you have said, even if it's just your opinion, if it suffers from logical flaws. I admit that I can sometimes get nasty with the things that I have said, but I always direct them at the POST, not the PERSON. There is no room on this site for the users to attack each other. If someone posts their beliefs / opinions, their post is fair game to attacks, but we should never lower ourselves to attacking the person.

The book was awesome.

This post isn't about anything that was ever said about me, I don't want people thinking I'm looking for attention.

i just questioned a word u used.
it seems a defensive word
" Everyone who has read my posts knows that I will attack what you have said"
my only question would not have been better to say:
"everyone who has read my post knows that I will debate what you have said."
attack such an ugly word

sadly enough...if someone does not like what you have to say, they WILL attack you. heck, we just saw that recently, miguel...where someone didn't like your message and decided to slam you for it.

Well I hope I don't attack...BUT I may attack only if someone is rude...then I would hope it's their message and not them!!!!!!!!

I think everything is open for debate or should be. Just keep in mind, if you question someone's logic, debate or otherwise, its an attack upon it. Does the person defend their position?

I can see how an individual could take it personally, since it was 'their' logic that is being debased. Try to forgive them.

Oh whats the use, its all going to end in tears, I just know it.

Some folks here are real sensitive and others just let things roll off, To me the forums here are open for DEBATE, but I don't think ones poems or songs or expressions should be debated only complimented or laughed at to there selves.
Tention runs high with SOME EXPRESSIONS as it is pertaining to a possible love gone bad or a heart hurt?

Do we act as a group? Or a pack?
We should all just remember that there are people behind every word here typed and painful words cut as bad as a knife to many.

But then again,,,WHO THE HELL AN I,,lolbigsmile

So what people say. As my ex told me:" I am who I am, and I don't give a rat's a** what people think of me , for I just say what I feel. Go for it. Freedom of speach.

As Hamlet once said:" heat not a furnace, so that you singe yourself".

attack an ugly word? bigsmile
I believe attack is a word of truth and is therefore beautiful.
An attack is (heh, pulls up google... and finds) several definitions with the funniest being: a sudden occurrence of an uncontrollable condition; "an attack of diarrhea".
Now there is a piece of truth. bigsmile
I fence and train to recognize an attack as nothing more than an action by my opponent that I must make action against or be scored upon.
You can sugar coat it and call it other names but attack is attack.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
