The widow of a man on United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after being hijacked on 9/11, blasted actor Mark Wahlberg for saying he would have thwarted the terrorists on the plane had he been there.

Deena Burnett-Bailey's husband Thomas Burnett phoned her from the doomed flight, saying, "I know we're going to die. There's three of us who are going to do something about it."

Burnett-Bailey told TMZ: "Does Mark Wahlberg have a pilot's license? Then I think hindsight is 20/20 and it's insignificant to say what you would have done if you weren't there. The plan for Flight 93 was foiled by heroes. For him to speculate that his presence on board could have stopped everything is silly and disrespectful."

Mark Wahlberg was being interviewed for the February issue of Men’s Journal when he said he would have saved the plane. The star of 'Contraband' and several friends were booked on the flight from Boston to Los Angeles.

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” Wahlberg said. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

Wahlberg was quick to issue an apology after hearing of Burnett-Bailey's outrage.

"I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention," he told TMZ. "To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible."

Wahlberg, whose Hollywood bachelor lifestyle was the inspiration for HBO’s “Entourage,” also said in Men's Journal that he has changed his attitude towards life since having children and getting married to longtime girlfriend Rhea Durham in 2009.

“Yeah, a lot of people I thought were my friends were disappointed that I decided to settle down and don’t take them on whirlwind tours of craziness anymore,” Wahlberg told Men’s Journal. “When I was the life of the party, I definitely wanted to bring as many people along for the ride as possible. But sooner or later, you find out who your friends are."

Wahlberg, 40, said he's grown up a lot since then.

"Because of Entourage, people think that my life is just a big, wild party. And it is. But these days it’s a big, wild Halloween party or Easter egg party," he explained. I don’t go out at night anymore. I don’t hang around with the guys. I don’t really play golf. I stopped smoking cigarettes. I stopped smoking pot a lot of years ago, too. I’m focused on my family, my faith, and my work.”

The Official Version of 9/11 goes something like this…

Directed by a beardy-guy from a cave in Afghanistan, nineteen hard-drinking, coke-snorting, devout Muslims enjoy lap dances before their mission to meet Allah…

Using nothing more than craft knifes, they overpower cabin crew, passengers and pilots on four planes…

And hangover or not, they manage to give the world’s most sophisticated air defense system the slip…

Unphased by leaving their “How to Fly a Passenger Jet” guide in the car at the airport, they master the controls in no-time and score direct hits on two towers, causing THREE to collapse completely…

Our masterminds even manage to overpower the odd law of physics or two… and the world watches in awe as steel-framed buildings fall symmetrically – through their own mass – at free-fall speed, for the first time in history.

Despite all their dastardly cunning, they stupidly give their identity away by using explosion-proof passports, which survive the fireball undamaged and fall to the ground… only to be discovered by the incredible crime-fighting sleuths at the FBI…

…Meanwhile down in Washington…

Hani Hanjour, having previously flunked 2-man Cessna flying school, gets carried away with all the success of the day and suddenly finds incredible abilities behind the controls of a Boeing…

Instead of flying straight down into the large roof area of the Pentagon, he decides to show off a little…

Executing an incredible 270 degree downward spiral, he levels off to hit the low facade of the world’s most heavily defended building…

…all without a single shot being fired…. or ruining the nicely mowed lawn… and all at a speed just too fast to capture on video…

…Later, in the skies above Pennsylvania…

So desperate to talk to loved ones before their death, some passengers use sheer willpower to connect mobile calls that otherwise would not be possible until several years later…

And following a heroic attempt by some to retake control of Flight 93, it crashes into a Shankesville field leaving no trace of engines, fuselage or occupants… except for the standard issue Muslim terrorists bandana…

…Further south in Florida…

President Bush, our brave Commander-in-Chief continues to read “My Pet Goat” [with] a class full of primary school children… shrugging off the obvious possibility that his life could be in imminent danger…

…In New York…

World Trade Center leaseholder Larry Silverstein blesses his own foresight in insuring the buildings against terrorist attack only six weeks previously…

While back in Washington, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz shake their heads in disbelief at their own luck in getting the ‘New Pearl Harbor’ catalyzing event they so desired to pursue their agenda of world domination…

And finally, not to be disturbed too much by reports of their own deaths, at least seven of our nineteen suicide hijackers turn up alive and kicking in mainstream media reports…

I would have put up a hell of a fight, but I wouldn't go as far as saying I would have saved the flight. I think he may not know the difference between his movie roles and real life. In this situation you don't get to have a do over if you get it wrong.

There's nothing ever said about them using drugs and the threat of a bomb on an airplane is enought to paralize anyone.

That's as far as I will go because this commie truther BS has been proven wrong time and time again.

He's an *** clown! After making 3 Kings he declared he would never make another movie where he would use a gun. His quote was something like "there was a scene where someone was shot and I was so disgusted by it I will never do another movie using a gun, I hate em!".

Especially when he is a little criminal himself. He should even be allowed around a gun since he is a felon.

There is just certain things that shows the true character of a person and they almost never change.

You finding someone attractive because of race has nothing to do with almost killing someone over race.

I dont think character has developed completely in teenage years(especially not 16 and younger) for many people, I think the evidence of whether it has is in what they go on to do later in life

he did not go on later in life to be a gangbanging racist, so Im gonna give him the benefit of the doubt that he learned and grew up

I disagree. I think it has and that is part of the reason they can be tried as an adult.

Personally I like his music and some of his movies like his older stuff like Renaissance Man with Danny Devito and Gregory Hines. I just think his criminal background is dispicable.
