has messi surpassed the legendary status of pele and maradona? argentina wizard and superstar lional messi has been arguably called the best player ever by pundits and football analysts, the world cup remains the only trophy eluding him, as he has worn more trophies than any football great. Such were the analysis. Do you agree?

I wouldn't deny Lio is the best player in the world according to the no of trophies his won but again if we were to choose the worlds best according to trophies won then why not Pedro Rodriguez Ledesma or Xavier Hernandez Creus?They have won the world cup and quite frankly more cups than Messi

I wouldn't deny Lio is the best player in the world according to the no of trophies his won but again if we were to choose the worlds best according to trophies won then why not Pedro Rodriguez Ledesma or Xavier Hernandez Creus?They have won the world cup and quite frankly more cups than Messi What the World Cup is every 4 years. Argentina does not have the same talent compared to Spain, Brazil, and Italy in my opinion. Messi has won five La Liga titles, and three Champions League titles. Amazing when you think about it.

Messi is a great player, but he is no Pele or Maradona. The measure of the greatest is to succeed at the World Cup when are playing for your country and against the best players in the world. Messi was not a factor and didn't even make the best 11 for the 2010 World Cup tournament. It's impossible to say he is as good or better than the best.
