I'm sitting here grooving on youtube videos from the 60's and I get this phone call from some guy with a very strong Indian accent trying to scam me about some infection threat on my computer.
I keep asking him "What do you want?" And I can barely understand what he is saying. He wants me to do something on the computer I guess. Finally I gave up trying to listen to the idiot. I told him my computer was fine. He said... yeh it is now.. .but tommorow... (...oh I get it, its a computer terrorist. ) I told him this: "I don't know what kind of stupid scam you are running but you aren't even from America." Then I hung up. The nerve of some people. |

Be very careful, are you sure it wasn't "Customer Service" calling you back by mistake?
You'll have to cut and paste the URL, sorry I haven't got it figured out how to make it a hot link on here. http://www.CallCenterMovie.com/CALL_CENTER/index.html Turn up the volume and enlarge the screen, also play it to the very end. |

I watched it. That was funny. |

nope was definitely a scam, it's called "Microsoft scam" and believe it or not an average person loses 850$ dollars on it. There is an interesting australian news story about this http://www.whycall.me/info/techsupportscam.php

There is an interesting australian news story about this http://www.whycall.me/info/techsupportscam.php Yep that is what it was! This guy was from India and spoke with an Indian accent. I could barely understand him but he wanted me to go to a website. I have always felt that giving anyone remote access was very dangerous, even to those sites that claim to be helping you fix a problem with your computer. No thanks I don't trust anyone that much. I can't believe people will fall for such things, especially from some foreign speaking idiot. Besides, I have a policy. I don't buy anything from someone who calls me, and I don't respond to phone calls like that. |
