Learning from Herr Goebbels

The lies of the neoconservatives and Zionists are part of an "MO", or modus operand, that is not original to them. Whether they do so purposely or coincidently, they are following the advice of the Nazi propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels. He tells us the following: ”If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will usually come to believe it." He goes on to say that simultaneously "it is vitally important for the state to use all its powers to repress ... the truth ... [which is] the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension the truth is the greatest enemy of the state.

“... the neoconservatives and Zionists first created false charges (Iran’s alleged desire for nuclear weapons and willingness to use them against the US and Israel) and are now, with the cooperation of the mass media, repeating them over and over again as if they were true.”

In the present case, the neoconservatives and Zionists first created false charges (Iran’s alleged desire for nuclear weapons and willingness to use them against the US and Israel) and are now, with the cooperation of the mass media, repeating them over and over again as if they were true. They ignore (and pressure the media to ignore) all the evidence that says their charges are false.

Thus, the scant press coverage given to the two comprehensive National Intelligence Reports, one in 2007 and a followup one in 2011, both of which concluded that Iran shut down its nuclear weapons programme in 2003 and has not revived it since. Simultaneously, they bring forward untrustworthy testimony of Iranian expatriates and known liars that support their claims (this does get media coverage). In the meantime, they urge greater and greater sanctions aimed at the systematic destruction of the target country’s economy.

Does the term "Iraq has WMDs" sound familiar?

Even though we have no hard evidence that Iran has a nuclear arms program we have decided that since Tehran has not been completely forthcoming on some aspects of its nuclear energy program it might be intending to develop a weapon. The White House is under constant pressure from Israel and its supporters in congress and the media to do something about the threat from Iran, so we have asked the CIA to prepare a document that will enable us to bomb Iran if we decide it is politically expedient to do so. Or alternatively not to bomb Iran if we decide not to do so because, in our judgment, the voters cannot stomach another war. The decision on what to do about Iran will be based on what happens in midterm elections next month and on a White House assessment of what has to be done to insure the re-election of President Obama. That might require a new war or maybe not, but rest assured that it will have nothing to do with the genuine threat that Iran might actually pose and nothing to do with any balance of power in the world or vital American national interests. It will all come down to appeasing the Israel Lobby and managing the election cycle. Thank you.”

Oh give us a break! laugh

Nobody wants a repressive backwards radical Islamic theocracy which
regularly carries out attacks against it's own citizens, threatens
genocide and supports all sorts of anti-western anti-democratic terrorist groups to have access to nuclear materials or nuclear weapons!

That right there pretty well sums up congress as a whole, the liberal/democrat parties included.

The report doesn't prove anything about weapons. The closest it gets is "Hydrodynamic experiments such as those described above, which involve high explosives in conjunction with nuclear material or nuclear material surrogates, are strong indicators of possible weapon
development."

It's silly to say this document proves any nefarious doings by the Iranians. I suspect you didn't even read this report. Even if it did prove something, that region is none of Americans' business. Netenyahu has told the world that the Israelis can take care of themselves.

Sure. We're safe. No need to worry about the cwayzee Islamic
Extremists. They mussed our hair a little with the WTC attack
and the London and Madrid train bombings and in Afghanistan
but that was a long time ago. They have hardly bothered us since
then...

I was taking issue with the premise in your post that seems definitive in the conclusion that they are not.

So, should we murder a couple of million Iranians to prove that they don't have nuclear warheads????

America has to stop the drum beating for war.

There is going to be no war with Iran.

Secondly, the people beating the drums are the Sunni middle eastern monarchies that have long held the view that Iran's ultimate goal is imperialist style expansion which leads to their taking control of the holy cities within the Arabian peninsula.
