What did Obama have to work with?
Well when he entered office we were already in debt thanks to Clinton and Bush. Then congress was split. Then people were saying he is trying to turn this country into a socialist republic which it already is cause of FDRs "New Deal" back in our first depression. Then realizing that it's gonna be harder than he thought to just pull troops out of Iraq cause it's still a mess.

Then his forcing people to get health insurance and not doing an investigation into the illegal Iraqi war didn't help much, along with the spending that he thought would benefit the american people.

So let's see what happens.I just hope whoever gets elected or reelected pulls their head out of their azz and fixes the 2 party systems screw ups.

He had a democratic monopoly when he took office to push through anything he pretty much wished.....

From peace to war in four short years!!!!

"Could Obama Launch ‘October Surprise’ Against Iran?

Recent statements from the Obama administration have led at least one Israeli observer to suspect that the president is preparing for an attack on Iran — and political considerations would dictate an assault in October.

Writing in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Chemi Shalev notes that on Dec. 16, Obama switched his rhetoric from “a nuclear Iran is unacceptable” to the assertive “we are determined to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.”

On Dec. 19, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, who had previously warned about the pitfalls of an attack on Iran, declared that the United States “will take whatever steps necessary to deal with” the Iranian nuclear threat.

The next day, Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said, “My biggest worry is that [the Iranians] will miscalculate our resolve.”

Shalev observes that with the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, there is no longer fear that an attack on Iran would endanger U.S. forces there.

And he discloses that people who have heard Obama speak about Iran in closed sessions believe he would order an attack if he is convinced that a nuclear-armed Iran poses a clear danger to America’s national security.

“There can be no doubt — notwithstanding claims by the radical left and the isolationist right — that a nuclear Iran would be an unmitigated disaster for American interests, above and beyond the existential threat to Israel,” Shalev writes.

“The entire Middle East would be destabilized and America’s oil supplies held hostage by a self-confident and bellicose Iran.”

If an American attack on Iran were to take place, timing it close to the November elections would benefit Obama politically, according to Shalev, who declares that “October would be ideal.”

He adds: “That’s the month that Henry Kissinger chose in 1972 to prematurely declare that ‘peace is at hand’ in Vietnam, thus turning Richard Nixon’s certain victory over George McGovern into a landslide; that’s the month that Ronald Reagan feared Jimmy Carter would use in 1980 in order to free the Iran hostages and stop the Republican momentum; and that’s the month that many of Obama’s opponents are already jittery about, fearing the proverbial ‘October Surprise’ that would hand Obama his second term on a platter.” "

1.Of the constitutional authority given the president, his primary role is leading the troops, whom I happen to believe have had a pretty good success record under that leadership

2. As 'head' of the country, I also believe it is important what image a President creates and maintains INTERNATIONALLY, by how he carries and presents himself and how he deals with others

on this front, he has also been very successful increasing the world opinion of our US president tremendously, carrying himself with professionalism, dealing with others with intelligence and diplomacy,,,,

3. As a personal preference, because of the status of the office, I do want someone less likely to fall over dead so I like a healthy candidate , of which he seems fittest.

4. Back to that 'intelligent' thing,, he also seems to have other candidates beat (in my opinion)

and last but not least

5. SANITY, being that a president has limited power behind congress , I do want the hope that he has similar attitudes and ideas (and that he has some IDEAS rather than just critiques of everyone elses) for the country I would like to live in. IF he is able to get support of congress, great, but if he isnt at least the odds were increased by having SOMEONE in government trying to push those ideas.

Yeah, who cares about violations of the Constitution domestically and illegal, murderous invasions abroad. As long as he can read a teleprompter well, all it good in the world.whoa Where did all the principled left-liberals go? Is Naomi Wolf the last one left?

I will leave that for experts and courts to decide, I dont believe there have been violations,, but its not my job to interpret,,,

and not only does he READ well, he SPEAKS well, which helps when dealing with international leaders who happen to speak our language pretty well themself even when its not their FIRST language,,,

I hate Obama with passion! He is doing a good job at destroying our country. He gave us CHANGE alright, the worse kind of change than I could have imagined!

Vote for Ron Paul to save our constitution!

lol, thats funny

same thing people I know say about George Bush

I dont hate anyone, particularly our Presidents who are in a very misunderstood position with much less authority than people seem to think they have

and I really have found it rare that four years of any leadership has succeeded towards 'destroying' the country,,,,

I think some presidents are worse leaders than others, but I have not enough knowledge of them on a personal basis to 'hate' them on any level,,,

Ha, I have mentioned various events several times on other threads. I will not be repeating them now,we both know your support for him will not change.

Passionate hatred because I love my country and I hate seeing it go downhill. I also love my privacy and the rights I do have which are being eroded BECAUSE of Obama. Hate is not strong enough of a word as far as I'm concerned.

I respect consistency,, to each their own

where they wish to spend their hate is their business

Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties. And not to Democrats alone do I make this appeal, but to all who love these great and true principles.

Ok this will solve the problem, get rid of all the republican candidates and just let Fox News be the republican candidate,so then when they say something noone has to verify anything cause we all know it's false.

A puppet indeed...

He had a massive mandate from the people of America and ended up doing as his paymasters demanded.

It will be no different with the next incumbent.

As someone on here has said many times.

It's the "COMPANY"...nothing to do with Democrat or Republican
