There was a chemistry professor in a large college
that had some exchange students in the class.

One day while the class was in the lab, the Prof noticed
one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing
his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter.

The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back.
He had been shot while fighting communists in his native
country who were trying to overthrow his country's govern-
ment and install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor
and asked a strange question He asked: "Do you know how
to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the
punch line.

The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs
by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on
the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to
eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day,
you put a fence down one side of the place where they are
used to coming.

When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn
again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used
to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all
four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through
the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on
them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around
and around inside the fence, but they are caught.

Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it
that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for them-
selves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees
happening in America .. The government keeps pushing us toward
Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the
form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned
income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments
not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we
continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.

One should always remember two truths:

1) There is no such thing as a free lunch, someone is paying for it

2) and when you begin to think that having your government provide
for you and make your decisions is ok, realize that you’ve also given
up the freedom that goes with making your own choices.

quite the quandry when you consider we ARE our government

of the people, by the people, and FOR the people

so, WE pay for whatever we get, thats the law of action and reaction

and if we pay for whatever we get, we arent actually being just 'provided' with anything,

if we have a vote, we are consenting to a majority rule (government representation) culture, which usually works fairly well

no, IM wide awake

and Im not a die hard patriot , america is the greatest, type at all

I know america is imperfect, but I tire of people screaming communism and end of the world whenever a policy doesnt go their way,,,,

I doubt people who actually live in communism would ever compare their situation to America,,,

and, I dont think there would be alot of difference between a majority control which was government and a majority control that is corporate/business

in the end, they both consist of people who are capable of greed,,,

I honestly never heard the charge about racism until his second term with hurrican katrina

I do remember protests of the wars, mostly because those wmds didnt seem to materialize

I dont remember much coverage of any other type of protest concering Bush

OBama came in with a plan to bring it to a close, which might be why the protests slowed,,,

Of course the media is owned and edited towards the most sensational news,

whats wrong with the country is that so many take media as their window to all potential realities,,,that is

if its in the media, its true and accurate,
and if its not in the media, it must not be happening,,,

LOL! And then you woke up right?

no, IM wide awake

and Im not a die hard patriot , america is the greatest, type at all

I know america is imperfect, but I tire of people screaming communism and end of the world whenever a policy doesnt go their way,,,,

I doubt people who actually live in communism would ever compare their situation to America,,,

and, I dont think there would be alot of difference between a majority control which was government and a majority control that is corporate/business

in the end, they both consist of people who are capable of greed,,,

were you saying the same when Bush was president and the congress republican?

I seriously doubt it..

actually, I was, mostly ( I dont recall the degree of paranoia regarding communism when he was president)

I was just more embarassed by him representing americas 'highest office', due to his speech, demeanor, international knowledge,,etc,,,,

for 8 years we heard how he was a fascist and hated non whites

you don't think that when the opposition took power that he wasn't going to come under the same scrutiny?

its funny when Bush was in office and we were at war there were huge protests being covered wall to wall by the leftist media and as soon as Obama comes to office the protests and the coverage stops..

That is what is wrong with this country

Its full of fning hypocrites..

And you are not aware of any laws passed that violate the Constitution of the United States?
