Dem. bigwig Debbie Wasserman Schultz is, at worst, re-writing history... or, at best, just plain ignoring facts. Casey calls her on it...

Hit that one on the head

Real unemployment numbers are likely at 13% because of those no longer in system or on payrolls.

when have they reported 'real' unemployment numbers?

I though they only reported what could be supported with documentation...well the reputable ones anyhow,,,,

no more uncommon than misleading pundits

the unemployment was going uphill when OBama took office, it hit its top, possibly a lower top than if nothing had been done

and now it has slowed

and needs to be decreased again

but the pundits make it sound like it has ONLY gotten worse, or only gotten better, when neither is the truth

Either way, unemployment is worse than either lead us to believe. It needs to be remedied, but the President alone isn't able to do much about it. Yet everyone always blames the top guy.

The policies implemented in favor of business have not worked. Rather than just doing the same thing over and over, this should be investigated with greater thought. Maybe they are barking up the wrong tree.

And so on.

I don't subscribe to any political party, but neither have I ever been a fan of Keynesian economics from the time I learned of it. I think our government's long-time love-affair with Keynes' principles is just one part of the puzzle, but a rather large chunk at that. Keynesian economics has a use and a proper place, but like everything else, it should be used in moderation, not as a primary economic policy governing all else.

I also feel that many government policies that favor business benefit big business much more than small businesses. On top of that, many regulations have a greater impact on small businesses, restricting their growth and increasing their overhead. What is the American Dream worth when entrepreneurship is being slowly strangled?

Sure, there are those who still come out ahead in small business, but it is getting harder and harder to run one while still providing a quality product or service.

I hope those people who disappeared are all working under the table and not paying taxes.

They're all working under Bill Clinton's desk.

The only way to reduce unemployment is to cut off the Unemployment extensions.

Then, Barry could claim he made the unemployment numbers drop drastically.

except that the unemployment rate isnt figured from the numbers on unemployment compensation,,,,,
