Topic: Paul closes in on Gingrich!!!!!

I am not against everything Paul advocates, I am not for everything he advocates...I am leery (that's putting it mildly) about the support he gets from the younger voters, we have been down that road with Obama...One thing to consider is the time element needed to achieve his goals...Also, foreign policy and economic policy are linked...National security is now a much more involved and complicated issue thanks to terrorist mentality.....Paul's age is a huge consideration for me...He is a great messenger, but I do not want to see him elected....I whole heartedly believe we need a two term President this time, four years is not enough time to right the wrongs and get American back on track....Paul is too old for the job that HE is advocating....

Ron is approximately the age Reagan was when he was first elected. And RP is far healthier and acute than the vast majority of people his age. RP still goes hiking and biking long distance! drinker

If you read back, you'll see that Reagan was already covered...So was his alzheimer's.....Someone is going to have to come up with a better argument than Ronnie...He was 69 when he was elected, almost 70...Paul is 76 now, if elected he would be 78 during his first year in office...Do you know how much difference a decade makes in someone that age?...Also, as I have stated, I want to see a two term president in 2012...We need time and continuity in Washington...That means I am think about Paul in his second term and pushing 90....

One thing to consider......

RP will seek a VP with principles he believes closest match his own. Should poor health befall him we can rest assured the change has begun and will continue.

I have considered this and this is another "time will tell"...believe me when I tell you, I consider this election to be the most important one of my time...Crucial...I am going to be as informed about every hopeful, as I am about Obama...I was devastated when he won the nomination.....not only does he need to go, we need an extraordinary replacement...And right now, I don't see one...

Ronald Wilson Reagan (/ˈrɒnld ˈwɪlsn ˈreɪɡən/; February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004) was the 40th President of the United States (1981–1989)

Making Ronald Reagan 70 years old at election and 79 at the end of his presidency, (only six year difference betweeen RP and RR)

Yes and Ronnie showed the first signs of alzheimer's disease three years after taking office (first term).... Paul, if elected, would be 77 or 78 going in..that's 7 to 8 years difference.

RR still had a successful Presidency by all accounts of Presidential Histories and still stands as one of the most popular Presidential offices in History despite Alzheimer's which is treatable more so than then. RP seems to have a clear agile mind to me.

Why not just accept that I feel Paul is too old for the job?...What does Reagan have to do with Paul?...Alzheimer's is manageable, there is no cure, and it is progressive ....Management of the disease varies from person to person, with some responding to treatment and others not...Back to Paul....If he did win the nomination and I liked his running mate, it could influence my feelings...but I don't see him winning the nomination so, for me, it's a mute point...

I do accept y0ur feelings Leigh. I just wanted to bring up the fact that we have had very capable older Presidents. From my view of the GOP RP seems the best option to me. To bring the end of the 2012 ERROR, as I saw on a bumper sticker the other day. I am not trying to do anything, but have a debatable conversation. Sorry, you feel that way.

"George Washington (February 22, 1732 [O.S. February 11, 1731] – December 14, 1799) The unanimous choice to serve as the first President of the United States (1789–1797), Washington presided over the creation of a strong, well-financed national government that stayed neutral in the wars raging in Europe, suppressed rebellion and won acceptance among Americans of all types. His leadership style established many forms and rituals of government that have been used since, such as using a cabinet system and delivering an inaugural address. Washington is universally regarded as the "Father of his Country"."

Making him 57 when he was elected, an extremely old age for the year of 1789, as people didn't live as long back then.

Visit RP daily. He gets the most veteran donations for a reason. And has a near perfect voting record of any of those wanna be candidates. People judge Ron Paul so much because they are only informed through the controlled media and what its told viewers. Look elsewhere for the reality about the man.

I've looked at the man since 1988 when he ran as an independent...Is media source the only argument you can come up with when someone does not agree with you?

Do you really think RP daily is going to talk about both sides of the coin?

From my knowledge, the site is nonpartisan and unbiased. I advise people to just do the research and STOP watching TV.

Now I'm pro-RP but you have to stop and think, this is an RP website, you will never see anything negative about him on his own website. That's like Faux news telling you, "These aren't really facts, it's just the way we interpret them." The whole thing would be counter productive. So I doubt it's unbiased. But don't get me wrong. I am a RP supporter, so I'm not trying to undermine him, just clearing up any misconceptions people may have.

Ron Paul has some good ideas but he will be savaged by the MSM to a degree never seen before if he got the nomination. The MSM wants Obama to win and Ron has made enough oddball statements over the years to give them plenty of ammo.

I saw a piece that showed how CBS and NBC had manipulated the Sarah Palin quotes to make her look foolish when, taken in context, she did not say what they accused her of saying. It would be even worse with RP.

Mitt is just boring and isn't really conservative.

You read me wrong...RP platform consists of some good and some not so good..I think debating all the 2012 hopefuls is a very good thing, information is key...When it comes to age/aging, none of us are immune no matter how much we do to slow the process or stay mentally and physically fit...Paul is a good example of someone who is proactive when it come to this, but he is human and he will go through the natural process(s) of aging just like any other human ....I think his age should be a consideration...flowerforyou

Under "normal" cirrcumstances I would agree, but our nation needs him NOW!

None of the others offer ANY change, just the rhetoric and illusion of talking point promises. Leopards can't change their spots!

King Barry has to go! The "defense act" he just pushed thru congress (they can't create jobs, cut spending, balance a budget or agree on anything else but destroying our rights and constitution) was to "include" his supreme right to name US citizens as "enemy combatants" AT HIS DISCRETION, NOT CONGRESS, or he would veto it! NOT BECAUSE IT WENT AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION!

We can't afford to let age be an issue when the needs of our nation are so dire and there is NOBODY else willing to fight to change that!

This will be made LAW by tomorrow!

Nominate Paul because there is nothing better even though Paul could very well crash and burn two weeks in leaving us with a POTUS we didn't vote.....Or worse, if nominated, leave the door open to an Obama second term....

One of MANY reasons I did NOT vote Obama was because I felt he was too young and lacked experience...Academia was a huge red flag for me too....His record? as a senator spoke for its self....

and now this for 2012...."It Begins with Us"......jeeeeezeee....

Don't get me wrong please. I don't condemn your reasoning or choices.

I may question them, but I won't condemn them.

I support RP as "my" choice, thru my research, and my convictions. Your choices have no less merit. Debate or negotiation breeds understanding and thereby tolerance if you fail to agree.... something most of the world seems to have forgotten how to do.

Capsule this...Gingrich/Paul on Housing Bubble Burst

Gingrich said...It was obvious the loan standard was becoming absurd....but NO one could see the intensity...This is ********..

Paul said (5 years prior to the bubble bursting) domino effect of faulty lending will create major equity loss nationwide for home owners and devastate lending institutions....he said a lot more but this is it in a nutshell...

Score for Paul...

Good vid, thanks for posting...
