We have just learned that one of my daughter's best friends has been diagnosed with cervical cancer at the young age of twenty five. She will not go back to the doctor until the 9th of January. Please send prayers that they can heal her body of this horrible disease and allow her to continue to raise her two small boys....thank you:cry:

Thanks everyone. I have told my daughter that with a hysterectomy she should be fine, but I am not her doctor....and 25 is so young.

Well my two great big Catholic guardian angel candles are already burning for me and Teddy so I will just go over and repeat the prayer and ADD her. SHE CAN SURVIVE. MY SISTER DID.

Your prayers are answered because where two or more are present he is among us... Just have faith and believe... don't give up she already has trippled her fighting chance by believing in her kids

Sorry to hear anyone is fighting the Big C but keep hope up this is one that is a lot easier to beat.

Such a blessing she has her children already and can opt for the surgery to knock out this low blow. Witht he new modified treatments she may not have the same issues that us older patients have endured. Certainly hope so.

Having a close friend will help her as a Mom and a patient and definitely teach your daughter the miracle of having/being a true friend. Bet it will bring them even closer.

Merry Maids did have a program where Cancer patients could get free maid help so your daughter might want to see if that is still going.

Can't say enough good things for the peer support groups for friends and families to learn how to be the best support networks possible.

This young mom will probably qualify for a Hill Burton Grant to help with her hospital bills but someone has to tell her to ask. This is a federal grant for all working poor to middle income folks that get slammed with medical debt. It pays up to 80% of the hospital bill and often the hospital will forgive another 10% and make payment plans for the rest.

Also the school counselor may have help that the kids can plug into for after school tutoring, day care, free lunches, books, club fees, a clothing closet for coats ect. and possibly even counseling.

A call to the Public Affairs Officer at her local police department can also give her some extra TLC with extra close secuity patrols, Secret Santa shopping, and even a food basket.

YWCA offers membership to families in Crisis on free and sliding scale which can give Mom/kids a great place to exercise/swim safely. Easter Seals also has free or sliding scale therapy pools in major metro areas for affordable rehab.

While this Mother can not drive she also qualifys as a person with a disability for mass transit with a statement from her attending physician. Call an ask that the forms be mailed to her home. Then she can ride home from the hospital and to follow ups in a wheel chair if necessary for minimal amount rather than horrendous ambulance charges.

These tips are the top of the iceberg as far as help goes. Dial 211 and talk to well versed volunteers confidentially to access crisis intervention any where in the USA.
